Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [31st August - 2nd September 2018]

Dreadful outside of like 20 minutes? Still winning with that mistake is huge, could allow for it not to impact us and Alisson.

Gomez motm, VVD stepped up hugely after the goal too

Poor performance. However....

4 wins out of 4, first time we've done that since 1990. For many years Utd had a knack of repeatedly getting the 3 pts even when playing bad, its a requirement to be champions in my opinion, so thats good.

After the international break we have games coming against Spurs, Chelsea and Man City but I actually think those matches are coming right when we need them. We need to raise our game and those are the sorts of matches where we will do that, getting those bigger opponents now could well actually turn out to be exactly the sort of impetus injection we need to get into a better groove. End of the day though, its 3pts, stick it to bed, put the game behind us and move on. 4 wins from 4, max points.

3 points and Robertson played well but that was the worst we've played individually and collectively for a long time.

So much of Leicesters pressure came from us holding on to the ball too long and either hoofing it back to them or getting caught in possession. TAA, Gomez, VVD and Firmino were all guilty of that multiple times today.

As for Alisson, he's already saved us points this season so I can put up with the odd mistake now and again. Just hope it doesn't happen too often :o

4 wins, 12 points and we've not really got going yet so plenty to be positive for the season ahead despite todays performance.

Positive for Liverpool is now you can play bad and win whereas in seasons past you would have lost that with that performance.

Undoubtedly but as I said above, Alisson's probably been the reason why so far.

Probably should've mentioned how well Leicester played today, I thought they deserved at least a draw and Chilwell and Maddison were both excellent throughout.

Played well for most of the game, some poor defending cost us. Similar feelings as the man utd game. Just lacking some cutting edge up top.

Maddison continues to impress, wouldn't be surprised to see him in the England squad soon. First englishman I can think of for a long time that looks like a genuine number 10 and a real threat in between the lines.

Watching the game while working so didn't catch everything but from what I saw it looked like another scratchy attacking performance from us again but that's now the 4th time that's happened and we're sitting top of the league with maximum points.

As for Alisson, I have no problem with him playing difficult passes or even the little chip like last week but situations like today he's got to recognise the risk far outweighs the reward. He done similar things twice vs Brighton and just about got away with them. If hes going to make a mistake the best time to do it is when you win and hopefully he'll learn from the mistake today without it costing us at all.

Haha Champions League level midfield play right there from the GK.
Come on, if you're going to try to be a smart arse at least be accurate. I said he passes like a cl level midfielder, which might be difficult for Euorpa League supporters to recognise ;)
