Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [3rd - 6th May 2019]

Ahhh good ole arsenal, always finding a way to **** things up.

How have we managed to get to the semi final of the europa league is truly beyond me.

Our run in for the top 4 were probably the easiest games out of all the other teams. But nope as usual, we throw points away against such crappy teams.

**** me arsenal you bunch of ******* inept idiots. How the **** did we draw against Brighton at home!!!!

Absolute ******* idiots the lot of them...

Think it's like 4 points out of a possible 18 recently, so poor. I really could not care less about any of the current players, would happily sell all of them if I could.

He will field youngsters on the last game, so 6th place incoming, if we get to the EL final can see us losing that as well.

Those 3 subs were so dire lol, Emery should have just left the players we had on. At that point we were so close to scoring but decided to change it up and promptly lost the chance.

Yep probably unless we find a way if screwing up the away leg of the semi final. Which wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest with the muppets we have playing for us at the moment.
Only player out there who worked their socks off was Laca for me, should have had a couple of goals with his work ethic today.

I just hope that Chelsea **** up in their second leg and we manage to get a result from our second leg at Valencia. Because in the final, if it’s Chelsea we will definitely lose that.

People say we have improved under Emery, I don’t think we have especially our age old problem of dropping points to crappy teams like Palace, Brighton amongst others. Our away form has been absolutely atrocious this season. We have been utterly lucky with both Utd, Chelsea and Spuds being as atrocious as us to give us a sniffing chance of top 4.

Looking at the start of the season when we went on that good run, we had some extremely lucky results as well from what I can remember, as you say I don't think we have improved either.
I do think Emery needs another season, but this summers transfer window will need to be important. Need to be ruthless and get rid of a lot of players.

They mentioned Gary Neville, like him or not, who really gave his all every match and it hurt him when they lost.

Thing is, you can't buy that, no matter how much money you have.

The only way you can get that is from having home grown talent. They need to take a massive risk and get the youngsters in and install that discipline that the bought players will learn from. Sanchez, Pogba etc all need to be dumped and start from scratch.

problem is that arsenal has paid a lot of those players too much. makes them hard to shift.

Nah you can you just have to have a good scouting team. Van Dijk is an absolute beast for us...isnt home grown. Salah always puts a shift in as do Mane and Firmino.

Tbf, Mane was more Southampton’s scouting team than Liverpool’s, and VVD’s was Celtics.

Salah and Firmino were both pretty established players at Roma and Hoffenheim. Not much scouting needed there either.

Yet Liverpool were ridiculed when spending their respective fees on both players.

Not by me they weren’t. I knew they was both excellent players. I would have been happy for arsenal to pay big for VVD.

Anyway, that’s more recruitment than scouting. Scouting is finding unheard of players who have lots of potential, not recruiting players already performing at the top level.

Why didnt you sign them then? They were bought for absolute peanuts. Salah was signed for 20 mil less then Aubameyang 6 months before he signed for Arsenal....why werent Europes elite in for him ?

That isnt the argument anyway tbh.
