Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4 - 8th May 2013]

I've no real interest but I'll be cheering Wigan on tomorrow.

If they win ,there will be 4 teams on 38 points and Newcastle will be in the bottom 3. There will also only be 3pts between 11th and 18th with 2 games to go.:D

West Ham and Swansea aren't out of it yet either being 5 points ahead if Wigan win. Swansea especially with Michu out.

Got a horrible feeling Wigan will bottle it tomorrow night :(

Hope so :D. Can't see them getting 6/6 from us and Arsenal which would make us all but safe *Fingers crossed*. Knowing us though they'll get a point from both Swansea and Arsenal, we'll lose 1-0 against Chelsea setting up a winner takes all on the last day :p.

How awful are Stoke? 1 man extra and they still got played off the park. I want Sunderland to stay up now purely for Di Canio.

I thought I was the only 1. He's brilliant entertainment. Same reason I wouldn't want Suarez to leave and why I want to see Maureen back.

I feel characters are a big part of football, at least in this country.

Heres hoping, cant stand to see Wigan the barnacle club of the EPL spend another year in the Premier league...the sooner they, their manager and their media attention seeking owner go down the better.

Hoping Swansea smash them to pieces tommorrow night, nothing would make me more happier than seeing Wigan go down finally after a few yrs of dodging relegation.

Knowing my luck, they will beat Arsenal this weekend :/

Wow this is really bad for Newcastle. Out of the potential relegation sides, we are by far on the worst form out of the lot. Our goal difference after that hammering from Liverpool could cost us!

QPR should be a win, and by some margin if we are to stand any chance of survival. I fully expect us to get nothing at home to Arsenal. Which leaves us with Wigan to lose 2 out of the next 3 games they have. Which I can't see happening either!

Not sure why you'd think that, they play more exciting attacking football than half the teams in the league. Agree about the owner though.

Cool little tool to predict who will get relegated and who will get Champions League places...

I've tried various scenarios on Newcastle trying to stay up. And the best chance we have heavily relies on West Brom and Arsenal hammering Norwich and Wigan respectively. No other ways about it, but we MUST win on Sunday against QPR.

Just did that, don't think Wigan will get more than a draw out of Villa and will lose to Arsenal so you don't even come close. Even still a draw against QPR will be enough for you. 3rd-5th is quite close though, I see Chelsea and Arsenal on same points with GD deciding it and Spurs 1 point behind.

I don't have anything against Newcastle, but I absolutely cannot stand Pardew, so I'm a little conflicted on what I want with them this season. I also really want Norwich to stay up, and I quite like Wigan also.. So yeah, I have no idea what I want, and I have no idea what the meaning of this tiny little rant was. Blergh.

Edit: I'd happily see/laugh at Sunderland going down.

Newcastle sort of remind me of West Ham many years ago when I spent most of the second half of the season saying they were too good to go down....and yet they managed it. I really hope Newcastle don't go down, despite their big club illusions I do quite like them. :p

Might tempt Fergie into a bid for Cabaye if they go down though ;)

It's actually insane to think a side with Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Cisse, Krul etc etc could be relegated :o

Cheers shami :p

We will go down though. Wigan will win tonight as Swansea have stopped trying, and we wont get more than a point vs QPR and the rest will all pick up at least one more win.

On the positive side, we may get a winning record next year, though we'll probably just do a Wolves :p

Used this, I have us going down on 39. Everyone else 41 or more.

I'd love to see Stoke relegated (can't see it happening this season) next season. They bring nothing to the Premier League and are utterly boring!

This season I would like to see Wigan demoted. Martinez is a good manager, but in the wrong club. There whole handling of the Haidara/Mcmanaman tackle was disgusting to say the least.

I fear it's a battle between Norwhich and Newcastle however, and I don't wish relegation upon Hughton as he is a lovely bloke. I'd also like to keep Sunderland in the league too, as they Derby is a special occasion (apart from when the "special" people leave their pits and fight horses).

So yeh. Hopefully Arsenal and Aston Villa can do us a favour and thrash Wigan! We MUST win against QPR, and if we have the right attitude (like we showed against Benfica) and treat it like a cup final, then we should win. And as much as I doubt we will get anything against Arsenal, we are the home side, and I can only hope for a draw. Which should see us safe.

If we do go down, I hope we bounce back up again. I think we would lose the likes of Krul, Colo, Santon, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Cisse.

But should have enough left to win
