Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4th - 6th November 2016]

It's clearly a soft penalty in the sense it was a stupid challenge that didn't need to be made.

In that sense, perhaps, except i'd argue his meaning was that it was soft on whether it was enough contact to be given.

He's not there to give his opinion on play, but the referee's decisions.

It wasn't remotely soft, it was a blatant trip, a blatant penalty. 10 times out of 10 that's a penalty.

Again the more I watch football the more difficult it gets to enjoy it. Silly rules and players throwing themselves on the floor and making sure contact is made its all wrong but part of the game now:(

That, and the fact the player basically chooses to go down. But that's just saying it's soft, not that it isn't one.
disagree that he chose to go down. kon would have actually gotten the ball had dambele not thrown him self forward and got his body in the way and his leg in front of the ball. he played to keep the ball and win a penalty, the contact was enough to send him down

It's best to support a crap team, like I do, so that you can enjoy watching the big teams play regardless of bad decisions or cheating.

******* Rooney scores in Europa and suddenly start in the PL again :(

Entertaining game I thought, probably a fair result overall. I guess Spurs fans will be the happier tonight.

Jones. :p

Hoping for much better today, it's been pathetic lately. It's clear Mourinho doesn't rate half the squad which is making things very difficult.

Bit of a weird lineup, looks like some variation of

---------Zlatan
Pogba----Mata---Rooney
----Fellaini---Carrick

Edit - just noticed Young is starting, could also be 3-5-2
