Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4th - 7th December 2015]

Wow, clearly Jose has his work cut out to get rid of the trouble in his side. Player power these days is amazing. Got to congratulate LVG for turning Manu more into a perfect Moyes Everton side than Moyes actually managed to do but for far more money than an Everton side.

Reasonable defense, quality keeper. Midfield scared to get forward, poor supply to isolated strikers. Strikers with little or no confidence. It's a 2000 spec Moyes Everton. :D It's a bit of a curse the league is so weak, you will be saddled with the **** for another year.

Some truly terrible sides this year. City should have stormed it this year, Pelligini another one doing a half arsed job and getting away with it.

If you finish 4th, surely they won't be going anywhere.

i keep thinking leicester will fall off the pace but they haven't ( yet ) but i think it will happen

arsenal could with this league, toss between united and city for 2nd/3rd and spurs and liverpool for 4th methinks i think chelsea are too far off the pace but spurs need to get 1 or 2 players in in january to strengthen the attack

i'm happy with the defence ( bar walker who needs to focus more ) midfield is pretty good, dembele has upped his game and alli should only get better but we could get eriksen, son, chadli, lamela working a bit better together to forge a killer instinct and just batter teams early when we can and take pressure off the striker(s) and convert these draws into wins. we've chucked points away from winning positions already this season.

Leicester have a tough run now until the end of December, we will see where they are after that.

I hope they hang around because they play some real good stuff, but I find it hard to believe they will manage to keep many clean sheets with the likes of Simpson, Huth and Morgan at the back. Mahrez and Vardy surely can't keep banging in the goals they have been. If either of those two get injured they're in trouble.

Just about calmed down after enduring yet another abysmal Man Utd performance. Watched it while on the turbo trainer which made it twice as turgid if thats possible. I honestly cannot see where LvG is going with that side.
Carrick, Schweinstiger, Mata, Fellaini, Young and Rooney are not good enough. Lingaard either but as a young player I give him time. There is only Martial in the side who can beat a man with either a trick or pace. That's disgraceful given the money they have spent. After 4 0-0 draws what is it that van Gaal cannot see. It is not working. Not even for moments in matches.Really it would seem that United are 3-4 players short of being anywhere near a decent side and even then van Gaal would likely ruin them.

1.5 seasons in and this is the dross we are being served up with great consistency. Its not acceptable. If I were the board I would be asking some serious questions.

Ive said from the beginning on here and at the pub how i cannot stand LVG.

We needed someone like Klopp. Someone who makes risks and tends to always pull them off. What managers are up for grabs? (except jose :p)

Ancelotti.

Pep, apparently.

e: Knowing our luck/mis-management Ancelotti will go to Chelsea and Pep to City...

I'm not losing faith in LvG, yet, although it is getting a bit tiring and his tactics seem odd. At least solidity is back, we just need to find some attacking flair.

I have lost faith with LvG completely. He seems to think that the only thing that is holding us back is our goal scoring. Its not. Its our general play and the lack of chances it creates. The best teams score lots of goals because they create a lot of opportunities and their strikers expect to be given opportunities if they make runs.

Our style of football is dull, turgid and not even effective. He has taken a number of players that were good, positive and exciting and made them boring and conservative. You can see the effect that a positive manager has had on liverpool and I don't think they have as good a squad as us. You can make a good squad of players perform badly and thats exactly what LvG is doing.

We have gone from Moyes and his crap football and crap management to LvG and his crap football but good management of the club. He is confident, brash and if he was getting the team to perform he would be perfect...but hes not.

I'm not sure how much I want Ancellotti as a manager as he is getting on a bit and he may get the team playing quite well but I would prefer a younger manager who plays exciting attacking, modern football. Klopp would have been my first choice but thats never going to happen now. I would like to see us get someone like Diego Simeone who plays in a similar fashion to Klopp.

I really don't think there is any point in sticking with LvG any longer as he will just buy players that would improve us and then make them adhere to his "philosophy" and ruin them.

Dug that only gem out

Where you find that bugger? haha

World cup hype over the keeper change im guessing?

Edit: found it.... Not really a gem given that i said it tongue in cheek after calling him a dick after the goal keeper change and then posting that 5 minutes later after the goal keeper chnage worked out for him.

I have hated van gaal on here since the first month of managing united.
