Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4th - 7th December 2015]

Nothing against the real fans but it would be nice to see Chelsea go down... just because of the influx of Chelsea fans that seemed to appear in my local area over the past 10 years or so. I wonder how many of them will forget about Chelsea as quickly as they became fans. To be honest though I think half the people I am talking about have already brought Man City shirts. Anyway... Good win Jose, I mean unlucky.

Assessment of the game
I think that we played a very good match, it's only we have to score. You must score out of the kind of chances we created. You need to score, otherwise you cannot win, and it is very frustrating, also for the players because they want to score. We have to finish better than we did today.

What can you do about the lack of goals?
You can train every day on shooting at the goal and you have to know that we are doing that. We put players in the position to score but you need composure and luck to score. The most important thing is that we are creating and we are dominant. Today, we were dominant and attacking, we were creating chances – only we forgot to score.

Can you understand the fans’ frustration?
Yes and no, because they can see that we fought until the end. There was a fantastic team spirit and we were dominant. We created many chances and you can only do that when you are attacking; we attacked much more than our opponents, who were defending in their square of 40 metres. That’s always difficult but we created a lot of chances. Yes, you have to score from those chances and we didn’t do that. That is our problem in the latest matches.

He's delusional, does he even know what dominant means?

It's worrying isn't it. There are some good things in our play, reasonably OK in defence, quite calm in general, but absolutely no cutting edge whatsoever, or urgency, or will to get forward and attack.

It's like if we can't create a goal with a load of perfect slow passing, he'd rather not score.

I can see Giggs getting sick of it soon (not that I want him as manager that much either), if Gary Neville does well at Valencia, I'd be more than happy to give him a try. Or Carlo.

I think the club are thinking about Neville too: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35013365

They're not having Kane. Even as a Spurs fan I don't think he's worth 50m yet but I doubt they will sell.

under 25? check
just what united need? check
english? check
current market? check
levy? check

that's £50m if ddg goes watch them chuck a £90m + player for kane and lloris our way

After selling Bale and buying 7 players, only one of them good (Erikson) and two okay (Chadli, Lamela) I don't think they will be eager to sell up a great player again.

baldnini has gone and levy is backing poch

i can't decide which way i feel about lloris on whether he'd stay or go. if kane goes, i think lloris will, if he doesn't i think he'll stay. so he's staying.

i didn't watch todays game as i was driving but i had 5 live on and apparently lloris pulled off a spectacular save so i was happy with a point i suppose

still shows we need to work on breaking a pulis style defence down. for games like these i'd rather go 4-4-2 get another striker in and play down the wings. just relentlessly power it forward in wide areas, get a cross in, rinse, repeat until it ends in a goal. trying to pass through a parked bus is just as exhausting as wide play at pace.
