Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4th - 7th Feb 2012]

Such victims you lot. There were numerous people condemning the Chelsea fans here and it was mentioned in most match reports. You're just making it up. :o Not to mention ITV glossed over the Evra booing whereas Sky pointed out the Rio abuse.

Suarez has been tagged and no matter what he does, he's going to be singled out for abuse. It's not an anti-Liverpool thing, there are and have been several other players in the past from all clubs that have had the same. But don't try and make out that Suarez doesn't get a harder time than others right now because he quite clearly does.

You fail to see the point. Using your condemnation of Balotelli as justification for the way you're condemning Suarez is only valid if their offenses are similar. A few clowns would like you to believe it's only Liverpool fans that have said Suarez challenge wasn't worthy of a red card however you only have to read through this thread to see several neutrals (some not so neutral - Utd fans) to see that it's not. At best Suarez's challenge splits opinion and is in no way comparable to Balotelli's, and at worst it's a select group of people that are making it seem far worse than it is because of the offender.

Quoted for truth.

I was one of those compaining about the actions of Chelski fans and there was a fair few other, seriously the persecution complex of some Liverpool fans is scary.

well, he's just come back from an 8 match ban and in 20 minutes, he's kicked and eye gouged a player. of course he's going to get a hard time.

skrtel and adam are far from angels either but they haven't just come back from a ban for being racist, have they?

i don't know what he or liverpool fans expect to happen really? let the football do the talking, last nights game was a rubbish advert for the pl.

you may still catch us, you're only 11 points behind :D

Do you really believe that there was the same level of media coverage of Chelsea fans abuse towards Rio Ferdinand, towards Anton Ferdinand during a CL game and the racist chanting after their Norwich game, as there was to Evra getting boo'd (despite there being many reasons why he was boo'd)?

only valid if their offences are similar? i'm afraid not. it all comes under the umbrella of what should not be seen on the football pitch and that would see any member of the public up in court ie racism and assault.

So the next time a player commits any sort of foul, it's fair game to crucify them because we did that to Balotelli?

Does anybody else think Luis Suarez tried to get sent off to avoid the Man Utd game? Is this all Evra and Man Utd's fault?

You seem to be missing the most important point here, Suarez is tagged.......... because he keeps cheating, fouling, mouthing off, diving, kicking players for no reason, eye gouging, neck biting, etc, etc.

I mean did you see his reaction to his two shots blocked in a row, clear as day on the replay NEITHER blocks were handballs, but between them the ball hit Suarez on the hand, accidentally, to allow him the second shot. But was it a "look at the ref with puppy dog eyes asking for the penalty", no, he was screaming, and yelling, and pulling faces, and shouting at the ref, and did it stop after 3 seconds, no, he was complaining about it for a while.

THe reason, and the ONLY reason Suarez is "tagged" is because he's ruddy guilty of all charges, he's a freaking menace, people don't hate him randomly, its because he's a genuinely unpleasant person on the pitch who cheats and rants his way through EVERY GAME.

Pretending this is somehow unfair is laughable, in every area of society when you repeatedly do things people react more. Commit a minor crime, not much happens, commit a minor crime over and over again, you get worse punishment every time. Score a goal, no one cares, score 5 goals, not bad, score 20 goals, woooo, the reaction is different, almost irreguardless of the situation do something "more" or "bigger" and get a bigger reaction.

As for these ridiculous notions of "if it wasn't Suarez no one would have said anything".

Ok, name the last time someone kicked someone with intent in the gut on the pitch, firstly, I can't remember the last time that happened, I can't think if anyone has done that before...... in similar type situations, every potential red card gets discussed NO MATTER WHO IT IS. Lampard is without question not thought of as dirty, and people still talked about if he should be sent off. So this "if it wasn't player X no one would talk about it" rubbish, is nonsense. The fact is Suarez gets talked about more, and Balotelli, and Barton because they do more red card style offences than other players.

neither would his defence lawyer

The one he shares with "stevie g", salt of the earth should be england captain, never in the papers for the wrong reasons?

I'm not sure either way tbh if it was intentional or not. I really cannot think he was clever enough to use the flight of the ball coming down to mask a kick in the stomach.

Not guilty danny :p

And as long as nobody objects to a bit of Phil Collins in the dressing room, Gerrard will be a great captain :p

edit: and DM, where did I say he was unjustly tagged? Oh, I didn't. You wrote a whole lot for no reason, again.
