Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4th - 7th Feb 2012]

He's a monster but he's our monster and I love him.

I've not defended his past actions, however I have no problem saying that certain people have and will continue to blow everything he does out of proportion because of his reputation.

Oh and didn't Defoe bite Mascherano? Dirty **** :p
lol isn't that what you've been trying to bang home over the last few pages?

No. I'm talking about the Parker incident alone. Read the above :)

well that was when he was at west ham, so who cares? :D i don't know if he bit him or not, mascherano certainly made a meal of it and his 'challenge' was questionable. point is though, what's defoe ever done since that could be classed as assault? please tell me if he has but i can't think of anything, so maybe he learned his lesson. suarez should do the same.

I didn't claim Defoe had done anything else. It was just a tongue in cheek comment :/

And you can't tell whether Defoe bit Mascherano but you're certain Suarez assaulted Parker? :o

correct. knowing defoe's attitude at times, he probably did though not to the extent of drawing blood.

LOL :D

There's no probably about it. He's quite clearly seen on camera biting Mascherano and you can't claim it was accident either.

As I said, I only mentioned it tongue in cheek but never in a million years did I expect anybody to try and claim that Defoe might not have bit Masch :o

don't every try and practise as a barrister.

i can totally understand why having the reality of suarez pointed out to you would make no sense

Where has this happened? I'm fully aware of his past misdemeanors. As I said, he's a monster but he's our monster and I love him.

All I've commented on today is the way that, because of his past, whatever he does will get blown out of proportion, like you and others are doing with the Parker incident. Several non-Liverpool supporters have said it wasn't worthy of a red card and have too said that had it not been Suarez we wouldn't be talking about it.

But maybe I'm wasting my time writing this, you're not even sure that Defoe bit Mascherano so what do you know?

Lol I love how all the Liverpool fans have the blinkers on when it comes to Suarez :D

I know you want to defend him (maybe you even believe some of the stuff you're saying?) but he really has brought all of this upon himself.

post #1442 is where i have given my point on that incident that happened over 5 yrs ago about a player who wasn't playing last night on a player who wasn't even playing for liverpool at the time, with a manager who now manages fulham against a team who are no longer in the prem. again, my point, has defoe done anything similar since?

Can you explain to me why it matters whether it was 5 years ago, whether he was playing last night, who Jol now manages or whether he's done anything similar?

How does any of that effect whether Defoe bit Mascherano? You claim not to be sure about it. If you're not sure about that, you can't be sure about many things.

at the end of the day it would have been really nice for this to have been a calm week without any added speculation to swirl up more bad feeling (as if that matters between Man Utd and Liverpool) before the match on Saturday, but thanks to Rooney and KD both making it front and centre again Saturday lunch time is going to be a mini world war by the time it comes round

(for reference, imo Rooney should have just kept him mouth shut - or fingers still on the keyboard) about the parker challange last night, and KD should just stop talking about "he should never have been banned in the 1st place")

Well done guys:rolleyes:

i can be sure, that suarez, by his very nature, is not a very nice person. like i said, defoe probably did bite him, he'd just been fouled from behind but did he draw blood? i don't know, doubt it, did we see any bite marks? not sure, not from what i remember, did mascherano make a meal of it? yes has defoe done anything like that before or after? NO. can we then assume it was out of character and he has learnt his lesson? YES.

well done on taking the focus off of suarez though, i'll give you that one, so just incase anyone's forgotten
