Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4th - 7th October 2019]

Whether all the rumours about Spurs' dressing room are true, they are just bad at not performing at the moment. I fear them to even get into Europe this season if they don't turn it round before Christmas.

He's a poor man's Ander Herrera for me.

A tidy little shuffler that doesn't really make any tangible impact at either end of the pitch. There are a few players he could be broadly likened to in terms of what he brings - McGinn and Guendouzi being two - and in most cases it wouldn't be Winks I'd choose in my team.

*3-0. And it is the least Brighton deserve.
I agree, that's kind of my point, but because he's come through at a big club and is English, he's rated. I can't think of many other English midfielders like him - possibly Westwood? (Or is he Welsh?)

This will be Spurs biggest league defeat since losing to Man City 4-1 in 2017.

More so than Winks, Eric Diet is the most overrated player I've ever seen. He's absolutely stealing a living

He looked really good, albeit in a very weak England team, at Euro 2016. Since then I can't remember him having any good games. Every time he played n the World Cup last year it was amazing to see how he'd slipped from being arguably one of the best performers to being one of the worst in the space of two years. It's a shame really.

Talking of players that looked really god at Euro 2016 and have been rubbish since, Michael McGovern is in goal for Norwich today due to both Krul and Fahrmann being injured. The bloke can barely stop the ball, let alone play out from the back, so this is very much not what we need in a game we need to win! Also means we've had to call up Scotland U19 keeper Archie Mair to sit on the bench, hopefully he isn't required today!

Nice to see Rodgers getting a warm reception from the Liverpool fans.

Quite right too, considering he was just a slip away from snagging a title there.
