Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [5 - 6th October 2013]

Chelsea should win but Norwich can be a ***** at home sometimes.
Soton/Swansea is a hard call
Spurs should sink west ham no worries
Fancy Arsenal, but another potential banana skin game.

All in all, should be a good days footie!

wtf Southampton currently 4th

MW

They're good, goal scoring has been a slight issue but they've mostly plugged the awful defensive hole by signing someone who could actually defend :p

Southampton are looking much more solid if a little less creative and freescoring going forward. They probably need to buy another CB in jan though as their back up are the guys who were dire last year.

EDIT:- didn't realise Southampton had only scored 2, joint lowest in the league with Spurs, infact currently both scored 6 conceded 2(i think with the current goal today included). Outside of Pool haven't really played anyone too difficult yet though but they really have looked solid compared to last season .

It's obviously only 7 games in but even this early in the season it seems like one of the biggest changes in form from previous season ever in terms of the table. Swansea/WBA have both somewhat struggled in form, Newcastle have been midtable rather than pushing relegation spots(and despite the wins and obvious improvement Pardew seems closer to the sack?), West Ham appear utterly awful, Sunderland are even worse than they were, Liverpool/Arsenal way up, Utd way down, Villa way up, Southampton way up, Hull/Cardiff doing well.....

After 3-4 games a couple fluke results can make the table look silly but normally by now you'd see UTd start pulling up the table and other teams you would expect going the other way. Everton and Palace are about the only teams to be where you'd expect them to be.

didn't even realise, Villa/Utd same points same record Utd scored and conceded 1 more than Villa so same GD. Utd scored 10, conceded 9 is terrible, a late maybe a little lucky win against the worst team in the league still only gets them 9th, conceded over 4 times as many as southampton have :o

At this rate I don't think the league will settle until xmas :D

Costa banged in another couple this morning for Atletico, think that is 10 in the league, 2 more than Messi, 3 more than Ronaldo. Atletico now joint on points with Barca, 100% start to the season, scored more and conceded less than Real who they are already 5 points ahead of.

Costa is being a bit of a beast this year as the main guy upfront rather than supporting Falcao.

What's his new buy out clause? Think he signed a new contract this season didn't he?

AFAIK Liverpool actually had a 20mil offer accepted and he turned it down(only room for one ultra **** in a club :p , that's why Real struggle ). New buy out clause I would assume would be significantly higher.

I seriously hope Spain don't call him up, firstly they can(and likely will) win without him, why bring the level of the team down by taking the biggest **** in football to their next tournament. I honestly think they wouldn't take him to a tournament because he's a massive red card risk. He might get used for some qualifiers and I wouldn't be surprised to see non La LIga refs throw the book at him... literally when he goes after the ref's they'll throw the book at him as they run away scared.
