Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [5th - 6th November 2011]

He hasn't had a proper muscle injury for like 5 years tbf, his last 2 serious injuries were the result of poor tackles. He's not really injury prone anymore.

Off to the only team in English football who iv been to their old stadium stadium before on Saturday! Been told the Richo Arena isn't all that though (seen it from the train a few times) but fun away days out are always fun as its a better excuse to get drunk somewhere comical :D

The Ricoh Arena is a nice stadium, just a shame it's never full and there isn't any atmosphere.

At the risk of offending supporters of numerous clubs, fairly mediocre set of games for the neutral on TV this weekend, looks like I picked the right weekend to go away!

Louis Saha once went from February to December without getting injured for us either ;)

Being injury prone isn't limited to one recurring injury, it's the player being liable to pick up all sorts. For Arsenal's sake I hope you're right and he is over his injury problems because you're screwed without him.

TBF though Wenger deserves credit for the way he's handling RVP at the moment, knowing when to start him and when to leave him on the bench to avoid any muscular problems.

Unfortunately I can see more of the same from us at the weekend, Sunderland usually give us very tough games so expecting a similar game to that of the Norwich one a few weeks ago albeit with maybe them not getting so many chances on our goal now Vidic is back

I reckon we'll line up like this

-----------De Gea-----------
Jones--Vidic--Evans--Evra
Nani--Fletcher--Rooney--Park
-----------Welbeck
--------------Hernandez

Subs: Lindegaard, Ferdinand, Fabio, Pogba, Anderson, Valencia, Berbatov

Personally I'd prefer Ferdinand over Evans (obviously) and Anderson in midfield and Rooney up front with Welbeck but I suspect that wont happen.

Great chance to build another 3 points this weekend. Haven't seen many QPR games this season bar the Chelsea game and they were very fortunate imo to win that.

I think we will just have too much going forward especially with their weak back line.

----Aguero---Dzeko---
Silva---------------Johnson
-----Toure----Barry-------
Kol--Lesc-----Komp--Richards
-----------Hart--------------

No Kompany he's suspended. Lescott + Savic CB pairing. I would be very tempted to rest Silva if there is even a slight chance his back injury could be serious or aggravated. Can see Barton and Sweep being well up for this one too.

Sorry yeh i forgot about that.

Quite possible actually your right, he did look in a bit of pain. Most likely Toure moved up and Barry drops in with NDJ?

Doubts over Evra playing at the weekend, he's due to attend his brothers funeral (his brother actually died before the derby game so he's done very well to continue on up till now)

+1

Fabio played well the other day (admittedly the Romanian's wherent that much cop to be fair), and he needs some time on the pitch so hopefully he will show his talents to the full on Sat vs Sunderland

Fergie's already said Fletcher will be playing (unfortunately), so unless Rooney plays along side him - Utd cant afford to drop any points, so playing Carrick just back from injury from the start (with Fletcher) would be a gamble to say the least

Welbeck will probably start either way

I know he's young and it really is too early to judge him, but I can't help feeling that Wellbeck is incredibly overrated and if there was one player I didn't think was going to make it out of this new crop of young players, Cleverley, Jones, etc, it's him. Is it just me?
