Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [5th - 9th December 2014]

Rubbish again. Again we couldn't control the midfield which meant there was no sustained pressure to our attacks and we were easy to break against. I can't think of a chance we had 2nd half.

Sterling was the only player that showed anything today.
 
Awful ref's helped Arsenal get a less embarrassing result, no idea where it would have finished from 4-0. Unfortunately it's less embarrassing result for Wenger, could have and should have been another massive failure to help speed up his exit from Arsenal, instead we'll probably hear about the great spirit and how unlucky we were to not get something from the game.

Pathetic, not a good performance from a single Arsenal player, pitiful performances from certain players. Wenger still hasn't got a clue how to set up against different teams and his absolute refusal to drop players who are massively under performing is killing us.
 
Much better in defence and midfield but Lambert doesn't cut the mustard. Once we get Sturridge back the losses will turn in to draws and the draws in to wins again.

On paper Skrtel, Toure and Lucas are a mile behind Skrtel, Lovren and Gerrard but in practice the former hold their positions far better meaning we look far more secure through the middle.

Poor result but we now look like we've got something to build on from the back.
 
What / where is Chambers supposed to be good at? He's obviously not a full back as when he plays there he resembles Phil Jones without the gurning but at centre back he just has no brain? What is his best position?
 
Couple new high-quality CBs are definitely needed. Mertesacker is useless unless he is playing with Koscielny and what is the point in having a player who can only perform if one other player is playing.

He's best at getting yellow cards, his position, long term, will be in the record books. As far as I can tell about 5 or 6 players all managed 14 yellows in one prem league season. Chambers is on 8 in 12 games... he can smash that this season but clearly has room to improve there next season.

the likes cattermole and barton will pick up loads of yellows but because they are thugs being thugs , often at the right time

chambers just seems like an idiot :p
 
Charlie Adam is scum, I think most football fans realise that. There have been multiple incidents in pretty much every season he's played in the prem where he's done something dirty and either got away with it or got sent off. He's up there with Cattermole and Barton as the thugs who would probably be in prison if they weren't footballers.

Chambers isn't the same player at all, he just gets booked for stupid challenges. I think he'll turn out to be a really decent player, people forget he's still only 19 after all. Give him some time to mature and he'll be excellent for Arsenal imo.
