Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [5th - 9th December 2014]

You can smell the panic on the Chelsea forums now. Their game has dropped badly in the last few games and all of a sudden, the new signings don't look as good as they did. Now City will only be 3 points behind and the race is well and truly on!

What in the hell, the referee's, are they trying to get video replays realising their jobs will become ridiculously easy or something? Woeful, absolutely woeful today all around, shocking last weekend as well. If they are bad enough do they think the league will start using video replays sooner? Today has been laughable, two clear red's for Mangala and Fernando, Barry with a pretty bad elbow, leading with his elbow, should have been at least a second yellow and that was literally 4-5 metres infront of him in his direct eye line. A yellow for a dive when Lampard clearly bumps him.

Pretty much the same contact as the pen... Marriner will be in the Isthmian League next week, never mind dropped to the Championship.

I don't really understand how it's not a pen? Milner gets there first, takes the ball away, Jagielka then bundles in to him? It was clumsy and incredibly stupid considering Milner is going absolutely nowhere.

Because he barely touched him, there is contact between players all the time that isn't given as a freekick, case in point Lampard ran into the back of Barkley and he gave a yellow card for a dive, and it was more contact and on Barkley's legs which is more likely to take someone down.

Jag didn't steam in with huge power, he went in and stood next to him, they bumped slightly, Milner only went down because his left leg was stretched way out in front and tiny contact will make you lose balance. If it was or wasn't a penalty I'm not sure. But the reason people question is, is because it's INCREDIBLY soft contact. He stays on his feet and there is marginal, really marginal contact.

There is that level of contact several dozen times a game without any foul being given.

Newcastle were good value for their win today so you can't really argue with the result.
We were going to lose sooner or later and it will hopefully give us a kick up the arse and, no offence to Newcastle, it's better to lose to them than someone who's going to be challenging for the title.

You do know we easily beat Spurs 3-0 during the week right?
That was in the last few games.

Pro Tip - Arsenal fans, don't laugh at other results until you've played ;)
