Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [6 - 8th April 2013]

Players who are in the wall and actually move away from the ball because they're complete pussies should be banned for 3 games. Taarabt has probably relegated QPR.

Still trying to calm down after that cisse winner. What a tense game, IMO toon hammered Fulham who are already on their summer holidays. Concerned about this lack of converting chances mind. I was just sat laughing as 3 toon players and pardew just hurled themselves into the crowd to celebrate.

Still not out of the relegation fight, 3 points in a big relegation derby against 5under1and and that would take us to 39 points, which may be enough even without a few cheeky points from a draw or two

feel sorry for qpr to be honest, they really cannot get a break.

If they'd been 1-0 and that was the entire story of the game and then lost it at the end I'd feel sorry. But considering Zamora's really horrendous "tackle", and Remy being pretty lucky to not break someones ankle, I have zero sympathy.

Remy's tackle was really pretty awful and could easily have been a red, it was insanely dangerous. any tackle into the leg, be it shin, knee or thigh is worst when done from the front, ankles, sideways in like Remy's is where its most dangerous, late and straight through the standing ankle.

I really can't understand Zamora's tackle, somehow it seems to come across as "a red here, and I miss half of the rest of the season, while getting paid a buttload.... seems like a good idea". Its actually such an insanely stupid tackle I hope the FA increase the ban beyond three games.

While I'll give him a little more credit over the effort Spurs have put into Europe compared to last year, they've been around/behind the points total Spurs had most of last season and AFAIK they had 1 point more after 32 games last year, long after Spurs entered their crappy form part of the season.

Spurs run/performance in their first year of the champs league was more impressive than this years run in the Europa league, and that all discounts what I think is a noticeably worse league this year, with a huge portion of the table playing worse football than last year, top to bottom. The top teams have been more beatable this year(in quality of football, though they often haven't, Utd have been dross in multiple games, as has almost everyone), the bottom teams are more beatable. I think because the league is in general worse than last year, and IMHO, by a noticeable margin, a team looking to match last seasons performance should be looking for more points this year.

Basically I don't think he's done an awful lot for Spurs at all, play the same way, same tactic as Harry implemented last year(play crap strikers while giving Bale a free role and ignoring woeful fullbacks).

I get the feeling you're somewhat regretting the hyperbole you came out with yesterday :D

in for the grin. i'm counting.

I thought Townsend was considered a bit poo at Spurs?... Looked great since he joined QPR!

townsend showed glimpses of decent stuff but was never given a good run. we could really do with him now.

we also had modric and VDV. our biggest problem is we are missing a playmaker and have replaced modric with dembele. dembele is good but he wont split a defence with a pass. and replaced VDV with dempsey. dempsey is not good and does very little.

we had more depth last year. just look at our bench today. dembele being subbed for hudd got boo's from whl. ironically, bringing huddlestone on changed things in our favour as he had loads of space and was able to play some nice passes.

never underestimate everton. very well organised, great team spirit and some very decent players. we're nackered too, we should've invested in january but tbf no one could've guessed sandro would've been out for a large part of the season we have missed him as him and dembele were a solid centre.

Hate Pardew but that celebration was amazing, love that passion

It was rather amusing.

I give the guy a lot of pesters for his tactical niavety (SPL?) and his poor subs but at least he cares and does really want it.

I liked the part after where he just ripped the rest of his shirt out :p:D

Was at the match. Guy beside me ****ged the team off the whole game and left @ 85 mins. Said to my girlfriend wait and see we score now.

The place went mental

Chelsea have got to the be the most lucky team when it comes to deflections on shots, for most teams they'd probably spin wide. With Chelsea they all seem to go in lol.
