Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [6th - 11th April 2012]

Two decades ago Norwich mounted TWO title challenges in the space of 3 years.

You can't really compare a team over several decades.. Two decades ago when we were mounting title challenges, we had one of the best teams in England. Our current team is full of players who have spent their entire careers playing lower league football, and Lambert has bonded them together to create a mid table team who weren't scared to fight against the big boys and were unlucky to not get 6 points against United.

Pardew has took a team many tipped as relegation candidates and been top 8 all season. Top 6 most. Missed half his first choice defence for half the season, been without best players over the busiest time of the season and is still up there pushing for CL.

Much bigger achievement than the rest but I can see Rodgers winning because the media have been bumming him for past few month non stop.

I don't remember Newcastle ever being tipped as relegation candidates? I agree on the point about Rodgers though, the way that the media talk about Swansea, you would think they were in a champions league spot..

Yup a lot of Papers, Pundits I lost count at the amount of times Newcastle was mentioned at going down after Jose/Nolan/Barton all left
I can see it as an achievement but I see guiding a relegation tipped team to potential champions league football as better.
Can you hear it ? Us even talking about it is a feat in itself

Oh god that just gave me a tingle. To hear that again at st James would be amazing!

Tough run in but we are in form with no pressure or expectation so keep it up lads and give it your best shot!

That Lansbury who just missed an almost open goal, is he the same guy who was fantastic for Norwich last season and scored some key goals for us? His first shot hit his own player but was going miles wide, it came back to him and he missed the ball the 2nd time..

Always like watching Championship matches, most of the teams are very similar in terms of ability and it means that there are very few games you can look at and be certain of the result before the match..

Yeah

FT West Ham 3 Birmingham 3. Bit disappointed we couldnt hold on, but it was all West Ham in the 2nd half. We could even count ourselves lucky because we could have lost the game. Overall can't complain, we still in 4th and I said before this game and the Crystal
Palace game that I'll be happy with 4 point out of 6 which we got.
