Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [6th - 11th April 2012]

There's definitely something more to it when it comes to Burton. In his post-match interview after the Wolves match shortly after taking over he tore Burton to bits and he's always extra awkward when Burton interviews him.

today though he told him he wasn't going to discuss the ref's decisions and the **** kept at him, trying to provoke him into saying something that would get him in trouble, on that basis I think Kenny behaved very well

Burton's the one that tried baiting Carragher at the Carling Cup final isn't he? If the media want to bait, as they constantly do looking for a reaction/story (that **** on ITV is the worst), they deserve all they get.

I didn't actually see today's so I can't comment. Dalglish is undoubtedly awkward with the press and sometimes seems to go out of his way to give them nothing. The majority of the interviewers (Burton and the guy for ITV) are total ****s though so it's difficult to feel sorry for them.

Thought he did well in brushing off the nob bar the handshake bit, that was a little cringey to be honest.

Dunno if that online vid is edited (Didn't see the interview live) but it didn't look like the interviewer was badgering him at all, not sure what all the fuss is about? He asked him once about two seperate incidents (which it is undoubtedly his job to do) and didn't press the issue each time, just moved on. I've seen far more persistent questioning from dozens of interviewers over many years. He also didn't rise to the obvious baiting about not being at the next press conference.

Didn't think either manager nor press behaved particularly badly compared to what we've seen in the past, blown out of all proportion IMO.

Yeah, the interviewer did nothing wrong, same questions any manager would get after any given game. The problem is the King, not the questions. He just seems agitated and argumentative, he should try to be more professional and media savvy, he's coming across badly

I don't understand what KD's problem was in that interview? I don't think there was anything wrong with any of the questions.

Something must have gone on between him and Andy Burton. Dalglish clearly doesn't like him.

I guess. I do think Dalglish needs to stop being so grumpy though, I have a lot of respect for the guy, but he annoys me so much in nearly every interview he does.

I've seen interviews in the past where I've thought, the interviewer is going overboard here, banging on about an issue and putting negative words into the mouth of the interviewee (particularly where foreign managers are concerned e.g. Capello)..... That certainly wasn't one of them; in fact the majority of questions were 'dollies', saying you must be pleased with the players, great start for Jones saving the pen, did you think there would be more goals bla bla.

Media work is part and parcel of the modern game and KD will face far worse than that in future.

Happy birthday for yesterday. :)

Thank you! :D

Where was my sexy text? :( aha!

Baz, I doubt Andy Burton's mother enjoys talking to him, what an odious **** Burton is. There are a group of interviewers who come across as stupid pond life who bait managers on stupid questions, not intelligent questions.

Best one recently, was asking Alonso (after the Real madrid game) what he thought of the Chelsea game against Napoli?

Err, he was playing a football match and probably doesn't give a **** Jeff.

I believe it was 5-2, was it? ;)

Go away

I haven't seen the interview, but Burton is still a ****.

I don't like the way the media bait or ask stupid questions, bugs me.

Dalglish's interviews are hilarious recently, what a laughing stock he has become.

Oh don't get me wrong, I can't stand Burton, but he really did nothing wrong in that interview IMO.

I'm 100% sure that Burton probably doesn't speak to his mum because he asks too many stupid questions.

Also, is Evans injured? Got a hopeful text saying he had been injured?
