lol, Walker, poor by Rooney no reason frankly he couldn't take it first time on his right foot but was begging to be buried with his left foot. Even the touch Rooney took was poor, should have controlled it in such a way to protect the ball from defenders behind him.

There is every chance of scoring loads while screwing up most chances. Messi, the very best in the world, has broken the 1 goal to 3 shots ratio in one season in his career. Ronaldo tends to sit in a more 1 in 4-6 ratio most seasons.

I personally think Rooney is worse than that, it's not really about the shots/goals ratio really, he basically should have shot and I wouldn't be surprised if some of those get saved.

He's not particularly good IMHO, but any striker starting 30+ games for a top four team has a chance of scoring 20 goals even if they aren't very good. Top teams create lots of chances and even a bad striker has a chance to score a load.
 
Please just get rid of Carrick.

Darmain looks like a really solid purchase so far and in pre season. So much better defending and going forward than valencia lol.
 
Rooney doesn't even look marginally match fit, he's not really closing down, when there is a chance of a one two and running into space after passing it off he isn't at all. When Mata had his couple of shots it came not from Rooney closing the defence because he was walking around doing nothing, Morgan ran out from midfield to close the back four and cause a mistake. That is something Morgan and Bastian will offer this season that Carrick doesn't offer at all. Too slow and doesn't have the legs or mentality to go and close people down when there is an opportunity to win the ball high up the pitch.
