I think the board is so badly split about Mourinho that keeping LvG is the only real option they have (who else is there really?).

Unless he really ****** up the cup final some how, we are stuck with him for the final year of his contract.


LvG hasnt treated him right, but there have been a lot of rumours that Januzaj hasnt exactly been completely commited either during the loan at BD or once he came back , so I honestly dont think its JUST LvG's fault on that

I just can't stand another year of this crap. Even when we win the football is miserable.

Honestly if you didn't know anything about football could you have said which of the two teams today was battling relegation? I don't think you could.

You'd put money on them both being relegation fodder I think. I have to believe that we are replacing him come the end of the season regardless and we just don't want to disrupt the team with 2 things still to play for. Its also unlikely that any good manager would want to come in with a few months left of a dire season when they could come in fresh in the summer, get the players they want and go from there.

The realist in me thinks that if we were going to sack him then we would have done already and that scraping 4th place in a season where Chelsea aren't a consideration and City have been woeful really is enough for the board. I genuinely think that given another year of LvG we will finish 6-7th in the league. Liverpool, Arsenal, City, Tottenham, Chelsea, WHU and possibly Leicester could easily finish above us next year.

Hold onto that thought............Utd could still finish 6th (or 7th) THIS season :D:(

I'd say it's more likely Januzaj is destroying his own career and it's nothing to do with LvG. When in the space of a single year 3 different managers don't play him because of having a poor attitude you'd have to be daft not to think he's not at least partly or more likely completely to blame for what's happened to him.
 
3 different managers? Moyse played him a fair bit. Then LvG came in and just dropped him to the reserves for an entire season.

Then he loaned him to flipping Dortmund, how is he going to get a game at a club better than us if he isn't going to play for us?? Just monumentally **** management decisions. Then he comes back from loan and he gets injured playing in a reserves game.

Naaah, we shouldn't be anywhere near 4th right now but every time we have a bad week the teams around us do even worse.

(are you including Joyce / Man Utd U21 , which COULD be dictated by LvG)

He hasnt exactly set the world alight (not dis-similar to other strikers who came up from U21 level, did brilliantly for a couple of games and then vanished into mediocrity)

If BD didnt want him to play him then they wouldnt have taken him in the 1st place.

Typical young player currently - has done brilliantly on the odd occasion but pretty average otherwise.
 
When i said 3 different managers in a year i meant : LvG, Tuchel (Dortmund) and the Belgium U21 manager.

No one has had anything good to say about him this year, quite the opposite with him constantly being accused of having a bad attitude and not being motivated.
 
It must be tough not getting a chance though, especially when the team is in such a dire place. The number of times trash like Valencia was picked over him. And then this season Lingard comes in and gets to play practically every game. Reminds me of the Pogba **** up.

People keep saying LvG is good with youth but if you look at it closely is he? He seems to have a flavour of the month and he goes through a spell of playing them and then drops them. What happened to Varela? What happened to Borthwick Jackson before today? Then recently his flavour has been Fosu-Mensah. Look further back and ask what happened to players like Mcnair? Has he even played this season?

I think LvG needs to go but I also think you hate him so much that you are desperate to attribute everything bad to him. There are loads of examples of Januzaj not knuckling down, recently in the U21 games for example instead of taking the match seriously he had a competition with Pereira to see who could score from a corner and completely ignored the coach.

As for the other youth players i'm not sure what your point is, giving youth a chance does not mean they suddenly start playing every single match.
 
The lack of consistency, why was Varela dropped? He seemed to be doing really well for us and now he's vanished and suddenly Fosu Mensah is playing. I have no doubt Januzaj might have attitude problems now, but after 2 seasons of being ****** around I would too. Even at the start of this season he started a game, played well. LvG says he can play as a striker, then just ships him out to Dortmund, it's absolute bullcrap.

Apart from the undroppable few (Rooney, Fellaini etc) who play no matter how bad they do it feels like our team is picked almost at random. It must be incredibly frustrating for the players, both the young ones and the more experienced ones (Take Young for example, he's been almost completely discarded this season!)
