Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9 - 12th March 2013]

Why hasn't Taylor just caught the ball? Proper odd that, it wasn't exactly coming off the post very quickly either.

I really, really, really hope 'Arry doesn't keep QPR up. The media will be so busy wetting themselves over him, again. It's bad enough he's got so many friends (and management companies) in the media on his side already.

It's going to be sickening if he stays up. Harry 'Houdini' hopefully this means they put him in a barrell and push him off a cliff.

He won't! (or I will be super mad )

Single worst manager in the football league and won't keep that nonsense up. They still need 2.6 points a game with 9 left to stay up (and results generally going their way), it wont happen and they will be relegated with a couple of games to go.

That's the plan. Total journey time today was 14 hours! I thoroughly regret buying my Coventry train tickets last night

Oooo 14 hours is too much (reminds me to be glad of the stuoid away days I have done I didn't bother with Carlisle when we smack in a Harding own goal for a 2-1 loss or something).

On the other hand Coventry is a quality day out, the town is dirt cheap to drink in, the rocket by the station was £3 for a double southern comfort and lemonade (I think)... We went twice last year as it was that comical! And the Richo is the understated ground of the country, not near anything, owned by a money grabbing council but its such a great view as an away fan! Steep banking, comfy seats and a reasonable concourse. Train tickets at least mean you can enjoy the good memories of cov away...

^ I have a horrible feeling that QPR could still stay up seeing as their run in is fairly good. If they manage to get a result in their next 2 away games then it's going to be really tight at the bottom.
I'm not sure what annoys me the most, Harry's corruptness or the way he leads the media. Surely the truth will out eventually??

Anyway onto Saints. Played well today as we have in most games under MP, unfortunately we still struggle to convert the chances we create. Holt's dive at the end was a disgrace but then I fully expect it from him.
Onwards to two tough home games.

"arry won't keep them up, everyone will know eventually. Against us he took advantage of our massive complacency and sunderland aren't all that as well... It'll fall apart soon enough.

For us we look a little better than under Adkins overall, team have more of an idea of what to do with the ball, just lacking composure/confidence really. MP is really getting the best out of the Morg/Cork partnership too, going to put them out as the best midfield pair in the league!

Holt is an embarrassment to the profession, got annoyed last year when Lambert was labeled the next Holt, no one wants to be the next Holt, he's fat, lazy and a poor excuse for a footballer. Liverpool will be a game we actually stand a decent chance in! No 10 men behind the ball tactics and lots of playing it out from the back, all sort of good for the high pressure stuff! Just hope Suarez doesn't have a performance like hi did last time at St Marys where he banged 3 in for Ajax in a friendly...

We have a good chance against Liverpool and Chelsea simply because of their style of play. However I don't expect much against either of them because of the quality of their individuals. Suarez could destroy us. As could Mata.
Having said that our high pressing game could catch both Liverpool and Chelsea out.

Fully agree about Morg and Cork, they are exceptional in the midfield role and help us play in our style; a poor mans Iniesta/Xavi if you were.

Apart from us winning the league nothing would please me more than seeing Southampton go down, come on God make it happen....

I hope QPR go down, they epitomise everything that is wrong with football at the moment.

Nice to see the officials are still shafting teams, and Grant Holt is still fat.

Liverpool haven't beaten Spurs in over 3 years but I feel they will put this right today. Spurs will be tired, I don't care what AVB says about pro's getting enough time to recover. Lennon will be too big of a loss, had he been fit I'd have been more confident of getting a point.

Defoe and Adebarndoor are too off form compared to the cheating little goofy git and Sturridge.

3-1 Liverpool

Are Dawson, Parker, Dembele, Adebarndoor, Defoe, Gallas, Vertonghen, etc any fitter than your average Premiership player? I wouldn't say we're the fittest team, we do have a few young, quick players but I don't know how you'd measure that?

Yes I believe Lennon is out :( He's improved his overall game so much this season, his defensive cover will be greatly missed when we need it most.

Spurs just need to abuse pace and hope we go back to our not scoring endless chances and win at a canter, did nothing last year at anfield but had chance to win at the end with bale but he bottled it, doubt that'll happen in this form
