Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9 - 12th March 2013]

We have a good chance against Liverpool and Chelsea simply because of their style of play. However I don't expect much against either of them because of the quality of their individuals. Suarez could destroy us. As could Mata.
Having said that our high pressing game could catch both Liverpool and Chelsea out.

Fully agree about Morg and Cork, they are exceptional in the midfield role and help us play in our style; a poor mans Iniesta/Xavi if you were.

Yeah I'm hoping both Liverpool and Chelsea turn up and play properly which will give us a fighting chance to play the high pressure game well, can't see either team being a 10 man behind the ball affair...

Haha, I was going for a practical and cheaper version of Iniesta/Xavi :D

I think you mean 1.6 and unfortunately I don't think that's impossible.

2 wins on the bounce has mucked up the calculation from the start of the month :(

Liverpool team apparently: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Enrique, Lucas, Gerrard, Suarez, Downing, Coutinho and Sturridge.

Gutted Henderson isn't playing but I hope we see Countinho playing behind Saurez or Sturridge rather than on the left with Suarez playing in midfield. Would be another huge tactical mistake imo.

i'm worried too. i can see liverpool playing a ******* blinder for some reason and the crowd being really up for it.

gutted lennon's not playing as he could've tracked coutinho and bale needs to track sturridge and then there's bleedin' suarez!

carragher's last EVER game against us. let's hope he can put it in his own net again for us :D

rumours liverpool have a surprise on the bench? who could that be?

another spurs fan said it is brendan rodgers mum; she was supposed to be taken out to the harvester by brendan but they were fully booked :D

in all seriousness, who is it? any long term injured player to come back?

Watching that win from 09/10, such a massive game that was, Reina with some outrageous saves and Carra with a shift and a half at RB.

Need a similar performance today to win, we are arse at defending pace

reina injured then?

Good afternoon from Anfield and a Happy Mothers Day! We've got team news for you ahead of our match vs Liverpool!

Tottenham Hotspur starting team today: Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Assou-Ekotto, Parker, Livermore Sigurdsson, Dembele, Bale & Defoe.

Subs: Friedel, Naughton, Caulker, Gallas, Huddlestone, Carroll and Holtby

Sit back and hit us on the break. We'll be playing on the front foot and committing a lot of players forward so it should leave you room behind to counter. Holtby might've been too attacking given that tactic.
