Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9 - 17th February 2013]

WTactualF is going on with City so far this season?

Mancini is what has happened to them this season, tbf they should have never won the title last season...winning it on GD is hardly the stuff champions are made of:p

But geezus i thought Arsenal were bad at defending but City are defending absolutely atrociously tonight and have been for the past few games..cant even remember when they last battered a team into the ground.

They are making Southampton looks like EPL champs at the moment:p

Oooh Aguero almost makes it 3-2. Would be an amazing comeback if City manage to win this game:p

Thing is Saints have been all over them and could be another two goals ahead esily enough. City will be better than Houdini if they even draw this one.

Don't underestimate Saints' ability to throw games away in the dying minutes.

24 points lost from winning positions this season :(

That is true but since the new manager has taken over, they seem to be playing pretty damn well. So maybe getting rid of Adkins wasnt the worst possible thing to happen to Soton.

City are running out of ideas so if they manage to bang in 2 goals before 90mins or even 3 then it would be nothing short of a miracle tbqh. Soton are doing a good job of holding them at bay.

I think Southampton may struggle severely over the next ten or so minutes.

They have worked hard to a man, but its these last few that are crucial......

.

Maybe true, but the way the Southampton board got rid of him was horrific.

Its also true that surely they are still in the "honeymoon" period .....

They've played well all season, don't forget they nearly pulled off wins againt City and Utd in the opening weeks of the season (2-1 up against Utd until the 87th). They just get very slack towards the end of games and give away stupid goals far too much.

They've always played well in general though, that's not exactly a post Adkins change.

Mancini is just a terrible manager i would be shocked if he was still there by next season.

Ive been saying hes absolutely terrible and City need a Mourinho type of manager to get the best out of them. Hell even Wenger, for all the bad press he gets would get City winning trophies quite easily:p.

Wouldnt be surprised if Mancini is told to **** off and we see Mourinho at City next season...that will **** off plenty of Utd fans and Fergie im sure:p.

I agree, similar situation to when Newcastle got rid of Hughton who also went onto bigger and better things

On City we could win the title 12 points clear of them, we could even do a league double over them but I bet they knock us out in the FA Cup and that'll be the game everyone remembers :(

Indeed the way Soton got rid of Adkins wasnt very nice but we shall see how well Soton do over the next few games. They are pretty much out of the relegation battle now, think they have 25pts before this game so winning this will put them on 28pts.

Like i said id be surprised if City get a draw or a win out of this, its going to take an almighty miracle for them to score what 2-3 goals in the last 5 mins of regulation time.

LOL true but personally speaking i think your squad is much better gelled at the moment than what City has at the moment...i dont see much cohesion in their squad at the moment and to me it looks like they are just throwing the title your way.

5 extra mins.
