Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9 - 17th February 2013]

:D well urm EAT THAT CITY!!!!

Good god Mancini out they were dreadful! Steven Davis man of the match everything the new guy wants from the team displayed in one guy.

Just let down lambert didn't get his club 100th today, still something to look forward too!

That was a great performance today by Chelsea individually.
The Brazilians were steely & industrious with a touch of genius at times, Luiz was everywhere and annoying with it and Oscar was just class I thought.
Ramires too worked hard and Hazard proved again what a machine he is.
Cesar had his best game, he's going to be one of the best, and the rest of the defence were more than adequate.
If someone can get this lot playing as a team they'll be formidable as they have all the talent needed.
SFL is just 5 short of the record, I think he'll do it now :)

Clint Hill is one of the worst of footballers to ever play in the PL. How is he even their captain?!

Redknapp's team picking is hilarious, Mbia was almost starting to look good at CB, so he's shoved him and often Derry into midfield, while moving Faurlin out and dropping Granero. Hill/Derry aren't good at this level, full stop, Mbia isn't good in central midfield at all. To be fair Nelson was excellent for most of the season, old but reads the game great and made so many huge clearances, replacing him with Hill in the team is just asking for trouble.

Derry so useless in the first half he brought on Granero, Hill just completely out of his depth at CB at this level. Ben-Haim, brought him in rather than almost anyone else better, but still probably better than Hill, insisting on playing Derry while getting rid of Faurlin who is 10 times the player. Redknapp is such a jack ass.

QPR seem to be getting worse by the game, yeah he's got more points than Hughes but look who they played when he took over, Sunderland, Villa, Wigan and Fulham, all in woeful form, 3 of those draws, won with Fulham playing away from home, lost 3 in a row, fluke win against Chelsea, 4 draws where 3 in a row they never looked like a team, averaged close to 30% possession across the three games, few chances on goal if any, and the one game against Norwich they should have won and missed a penalty.

The team were improving under Hughes, and going backwards under Redknapp, if he keeps picking Hill/Derry down the spine of the team, they've got absolutely no chance of staying up.

Yep Chelsea looked very fortunate to win that game as comfortably as they did, surely someone in the PL is going to sign Frank Lampard (I'd still take him at united to bolster the squad for a year or two)

They didn't win it comfortably at all & they weren't fortunate
They deserved to win, they were the better side throughout, they didn't deserve to win by such a margin though.
You shouldn't base your opinions on what you see on MOTD or what you hear or read, is it Frank you keep telling that?

You would think kids + ex meaning moving kids being difficult would mean he'd favour staying in the EPL. Though PSG + fast train might be a good alternative. But ultimately if someone like PSG, or a MLS club can offer him 10mil a year, who in the prem can match that at all, and who can match that at a club he'd want to play at... don't know the guy, doesn't seem a ****, maybe he'd love to go back to West Ham for way less cash, maybe he'd go to Utd for a lot of cash, maybe he doesn't mind leaving his kids behind and might go to China for a huge pay day.

Chelsea are mad to want to get rid of him, the last player I'd get rid of.

Did the Chelsea fans even celebrate that second goal?

Of course:confused:
By the way, Wigan were the worst supported side I've ever seen. By far the most empty seats and not a peep out of them all game & couldn't even hear them celebrate their goal.
