All the toys back in the prams now then? Good
I do find it quite amusing how much people say Man Uniteds team/squad/everything is so poo and City is omgincredible, yet we are still only two points behind and we've been playing like 5 year olds.
You seem to forget a few crucial things, Utd started the season very well and
http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/teams/ManchesterUtd.html
As you can see, 5 wins on the trot, then 4 games almost completely the opposite, then a bunch of wins but without playing a single "top" team and the only somewhat decent team you played was Newcastle, yeah a bit of a BS result but I'm not sure Newcastle weren't already racking up their injuries list by then, not sure if The Hair played, Tiote was out.
Thing is, a top four team in this league can be poo, and still thump everyone below 7th with complete ease.
City have, literally unquestionably been playing better than Utd from 6-7 games into the season, Utd have been losing in other competitions and been playing badly in a lot of those recent wins, with a couple unlucky dropped points and more than a few lucky gained points off awful performances.
Likewise, 2 points doesn't mean much, City play a top four team and Utd play a bottom 4 team, what do you think will happen, the odds are that the gap will close on a weekend like that. The next weekend that City play Wolves and Utd play Chelsea, that could easily go back to 5 points, in facts it's more likely than not.
Since Utd have been playing badly, City have won more cup games, against better teams, and won European games against better teams, and lost against better teams than Utd lost to.
When you regard a title chasing side as playing poo, its not explicitly stated but most people are generally talking about a top 4 side playing poo, not a premier league team, a top 4 side playing poo, is still a very very good premier league team.
Also again, aside from the results, Utd have been playing crap football, and City have mostly been playing excellent football. Results and quality of football aren't the same things.
