Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9th - 13th September 2011]

Arsenal v Swansea
Everton v Aston Villa
Man City v Wigan
Stoke v Liverpool
Sunderland v Chelsea
Wolverhampton v Tottenham
Bolton v Man Utd

Winning / draws in BOLD. Though I'm tempted to say that Arsenal - Swansea will be a draw.

4 from 6 isn't bad. 5 from 7 after the Man U match. :D

Can't believe we didn't win. Played brilliant in the first half, not so good in the second but still good. Just comes down to the fact you don't have a striker!!!

Obvious lol at Liverpool. :D

They are but this ref has missed 2 handballs and given Stoke every get out clause for us to have a pen possible

Theres no doubt he is an utter tool. What a rubbish day, i missed the first half but i did not see stoke do anything attacking at all - its so boring watching them play - how we did not get a pen is anyones guess. oh well it was expected - i bet meireles would have scored that one at the end!

Fighting for 4th this year, just not good enough for anything more!

Not a great performance but we done enough to have at least got a draw today. We had a few decent chances in the first half and some great chances second half but didn't put them away.

The ref didn't have the best of games but we should have done enough to get at least a point regardless.
Another handball, Ref you are utter utter useless

That one would have been harsh. The one in the first half was clear cut though.

Disgusted losing to that so called football team that is Stoke. They spend more time wasting time and keeping the ball in the air then anything else.

I am actually getting hopeful that my bet of Brighton to win the leaguse is going to happen. £100 at 18/1 at the start of the season.

Another away win todat against Bristol City and a clean sheet too. Am i dreaming?

(plus i won £250 on an accumulator as well)

/boast

By god we look good at the moment. I'm not sure what point I'm supposed to get giddy, but our attacking is sublime. We should have buried those chances, even missed a penalty. Could have been another 5 goal blinder, could have been even more.

Leave the lad who scored 4 goals last game off the pitch, Aguero gets a hat trick. Nasri has already got 4 assists in 2 games, did he even get that many in every game for Arsenal last season? And Silva.. Is just Silva. Has got to be the best ACM in the Prem at the minute.

Wigan fashioned some good chances. Martinez seems like a great manager to me. I think they may have bribed the post and cross bar going off the last couple of games though :p

Shay Given has been one of the best keepers in the league for ages I have no idea why no one tried harder to get him during his time at Newcastle he is an incredible shot stopper.

lol, because City got him at which point everyone said, yeah but he can't command his defence, he doesn't fly out a lot therefore he's really not good.

For what, 7 years now I've been saying Arsenal should have gotten him, 5mil basically at any time, ridiculously cheap for a keeper his quality, 5mil today would be a freaking bargain. Absolutely, beyond doubt one of the best keepers in the world and has been for a long time.

I quite like our polak now but he'd likely only be a better player if Given had been no.1 at Arsenal for the last 5 years.

Big win for Arsenal according to the commentators...... being gifted a goal and scraping the win, against a team that haven't scored in the league yet.

We've conceded more than 3x the amount City have, and they've scored 5 times more than we have, with 4x the amount of points. That same team and performance against a top half team would have been a very straight forward loss for us.

You shouldn't be. They can play whatever football they like within the rules of the game. It's up to us to find a way to beat it and we couldn't today.

As annoying as it is, other teams (man utd etc) still go there and win - if we have any more aspirations of getting higher than 4th then we need to learn to win away games like these.

Well when we were selling him we wouldn't have sold him to anyone inside the "Top 5" so Villa was his only option really.

Why no one else came in for him at Newcastle i have no idea.

Gave us two great years but his claiming of crosses and command of his area cost us a few times.

3.5m for Villa is proving to be a bargain though.
