He played the Copa America and had done little to no training with Fenerbache IIRC, so he's still half-baked. I'd expect he'll be starting games within a few weeks.
Poor performance, but this is the first game they've played since they were humiliated on a massive scale. Didn't expect them to be at their most confident whatever the players said, the new players to gel straight away. Main thing is, 3 points, the first win in the league for yonks, and something they can build on. Obviously there's massive room for improvement, but you can't go on the most terrible run of league results the club has seen in years and then suddenly start playing like world-beaters. Also as Arshavin said, they need to learn to play slightly differently without Fabregas (who is smashing it today for Barca, again, unsurprisingly), and I don't expect that to happen overnight either.
But yeah, we won, that'll restore a bit of confidence, clean sheet, non-nerve-wracking goalkeeping, now let's get back where we belong near the top.
