Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9th - 13th September 2011]

Well poor game for us in sense we couldn't break them down, Subs were done too late like i said they would be. Stoke had ref on there side 2 hand balls and every nudge we did exactly same as them we got punished they didn't Delap didnt even get booked for his challenge which was stupid in itself.

Adam today for us was awfull, Crap result and poor game bah =/
 
Cesc with another goal to make it 2-0 for Barca. :(

Thank god we got Benny and Arteta to replace him, they were stunningly good today :(

EDIT:_ Just seen the goals, I think he made the awesome chipped pass to set up the first goal, and he did great for his goal though laid it off for someone else, and tapped in the loose ball after it was saved.

Definately has to be deliberate. That's why that rule is such a touchy subject, you can never be sure if it's deliberate or not.

Ref guidance is that if a player has his arm outstretched it's deliberate, because players do it to make themselves "big" to increase the chance that they block the ball.

Exactly. That interpretation was brought in because defenders were blocking shots with their arms outstretched and getting away with it because their arms weren't moving towards the ball.

There were 2 incidents today which could have been given. The first 1 was clear cut and the 2nd could have gone either way; the defenders arms were outstretched but he was sliding in to block a cross so you could forgive him for not having full control of where his body parts are positioned.
