Greenpeace - Rainbow Warrior.

When it comes to Greenpeace I fully support and endorse the DGSE.

A photographer drowned when the Rainbow Warrrior was sunk by the DGSE.

Grow up.

Greenpeace currently has 3 ships travelling around the world on it's "Quit coal and save the planet" tour, now one of those ships is diesel powered.

Not coal powered, eh? So no hypocrisy there, then.

Should they not all be sail boats in order to "Save the planet?"

No, that would be incredibly impractical.

To be honest, he was an idiot.

Sure, he made a daft mistake. There's still no excuse for endorsing the DGSE attack. It was illegal and immoral.

I remember watching it all unfold on the news at the time. It was amusing to see how quickly the New Zealanders caught and arrested the DGSE hit squad.

Correct me if I am wrong but the boat entered a restricted area?

Maybe if you are of below average intelligence you wouldn't see it.

So you've not realised that diesel is a fossil fuel too?!

TBH the fact that they have a diesel boat is no biggy when they are saving whales and stuff from exstinction. I think they are pretty stupid when it comes to there protest on coal power plant, without building new plant soon we will soon run out of power.....then whos to blame?

Yes, yes I have.

Just because they are using fuel to try and stop everyone using so much, does not mean they are hypocrites. It means they feel the ends justify the means. I'm not saying I agree with their methods, but they aren't really hypocrites for using fossil fuels.

But do all these Greenpeace activists have solar panels, wind turbines and geo thermal power at home or do they just go with the cheapest energy supplier?

Also lets not forget that as soon as an alternative to coal and nuclear power is suggested, such as tidal barriers and wind farms they complain again about the environmental impact of these, what solutions do they offer?

Well, on their website they seem to advocate something called 'combined heat and power'.
Denmark is probably the most active energy recycler, obtaining about 55% of its energy from cogeneration and waste heat recovery.

Don't really know anything about that myself. I get your point, but I still think it's good that they're at least trying to do the right thing for humanity, hypocrisies and all. It's important to remember that organisations like that want to protect our environment, first and foremost, for the sake of people. If the world became uninhabitable it'd wouldn't be 'bad' for nature, just for us.

I like the fact that Greenpeace take on the giant corporations where as governments try to shift the responsibility to the end user.

I don't think that it is just a matter of whether or not Greenpeace use fossil fuels, eat meat or anything like that.

One of the primary aims of Greenpeace, is to raise awareness, and where they can, take legal steps that will prevent the un-necessary destruction of some of the more endangered resources that this planet has.

Of course, had it been Sea Shepard that the DGSE had visited all those years ago, I think it is safe to say, things would have been different. Rainbow Warrior, was a soft target.
