Greta Thunberg

Greta is getting a bit stale now, isn't she.

Even if I agree with some of the stuff she's saying, she's ceased to be novel, and all she is doing is restating the same problem over and over.

She is in danger of becoming self-parody. And like an advert we've been forced to watch 100 times, you just switch off or switch over.

Her re-stating the same problem time and again on TV is no more useful than any of us re-stating the problem on here. The skill is in finding solutions, and it's painfully obvious Greta has none. Which you wouldn't expect her to; she's a child (ish). But again, re-stating the problem, if that's all she can do, will only take her so far, before everyone gets fed up of her.

Stale? She's a climate change protester, what do you want her to do? Pivot to campaigning against corruption in world football?

The problem needs to be restated continually, that's the only way to keep momentum, and it's not for protestors to solve the issue, they can't, their job is to put as much pressure on politicians, businesses and world leaders as possible.

If you're getting fed up of someone fighting to improve the planet then maybe just switch off the news.

I'm the same with her. At least shes using her voice and platform to push something worthwhile. People of a certain age arent going to listen to Prince Charles lmao but they will listen to someone there own age which is exactly whats going on. The insults she gets on her are just pathetic to be honest.

These insults are just part of the larger picture of business as usual of the fossils fuels industries.

It is now a fight between the renewables energy sector and the fossils fuels energy sector.
You know the outcome, though, don't you. The fossils fuels stand no chance.

China says expect net zero in there in about 40 years time. Exactly by the time the last oil reserves will be depleted.

The worst part is the blatant greenwashing from the industry, like they think the public won't notice, and to be fair maybe they won't.

Shell have pledged to be net zero by 2050, awesome that sounds great, until you look into it and realise that only relates to direct emissions, which ignores 90% of the emissions they are actually responsible for. So to put that into context, Shell could increase oil production by 10x and, as long as they can make the process of extracting and refining that oil net zero, they can still hit the target they've set for themselves. It's ridiculous and it shows utter contempt for the entire planet.

ha ha.

I missed an r you're missing the Essential Amino Acid Content in Red Meat

He shoots! He missed !

I already covered the absolute scientific facts in a previous post.

The only essential amino acids humans require are ONLY and ALL found in plants, only.

We do not need anything from meat, at all, there is zero essential molecules in meat.

The more you know huh ?

It's almost as if humans evolved to require plants as their diet.... ? I mean, you don't need to argue with me about it - you need to have a word with Mother Nature, evolution clearly demonstrates what we really evolved to eat.

do you give a dam for people marching ... it's like the BLM riots, or extinction rebellion(I think the motoring publics got their number now, civil retalliation) -
the protestors construct their own echo chamber - but it seems an impotent action to me.

So protesting on any subject is completely pointless then

She might be getting stale for you, I doubt you are her target audience. Any person who is constantly out there pushing a message will seem stale to a section of society, especially if that section doesn't really care about that message. Her audience is under 30s, that is who she is trying to mobilise. Considering she is always in the news and appears to be very popular with a demographic that feels it isn't listened too. I'd say she is doing a fairly good job.

Its not the job of people like Greta or David Attenborough to find solutions, their job is raise awareness. There are academic institutions, companies and NGOs that will be searching for solutions. If they find some then the likes of David and Greta can raise awareness/promote them and help getting governments to support them.

Not disputing we need plants

No, but you incorrectly pointed out we need meat to survive, we don't, this isn't about human nature of oneupmanship & point scoring, its trying to (IMO) spread factual information, I often wished we lived in a world where opinions were formed on indisputable factual info, it would make life much more straight forward.

Exactly. Imagine trying to get young people to listen to Prince Charles :cry: I'm struggling to think of many people that would be less relevant to todays youth.

As for Greta and the abuse she receives on here, are we even remotely surprised? Its the same usual suspects. I'll be completely honest, I rarely listen to her, I rarely watch main stream news anymore. I'm 50, I have no kids and so have little to no skin in the game long term. I try to do my bit but this fight needs to come from younger generations, in 10 years they will be in better positions to push policy, they are the future.

Greta and Attenborough are not remotely the same, tho. They might have the same objective but that's where the similarity ends.

Greta resurrected her "Blah, blah, blah," line the other day, which I found hugely ironic, because that's how I'd sum her up, really.

She's not interesting, she's just droning on making the same complaints endlessly. Even if they are valid complaints, she is not coming from any kind of position of authority to make them. She's not got the experience (or charisma) of Attenborough, she's a kid that has a very limited repertoire and has become a broken record.

Yeah she's on TV because she's a media darling, but I did notice how little excitement she managed to drum up from the crowd - her own supporters.

She's a puppet and getting manipulated and financed heavily here for it. Once the powers that be that is funding her, she'll get dropped like no tomorrow once the support is no longer in favour. It's a good old ploy here. The elite using a child so the child cannot be criticised by most of the masses. More so the fact it's one they've used with a disability. Plus her parents are of the same ilk. Rebels without a cause to exploit and grab money. It's practically another form of Bob Geldof watching it.

You can also see her adoration for so called fame through all of this.

It's a real shame though, as she's going to end up a very bitter adult full of hatred for the world. You can see it happening already.

And so what if she gets financial support? Who doesn't, and can survive without financial support?

Here the main highlight is the positive influence towards sustainable energy sources that do not pollute and are climate neutral.
Positive influence towards saving humans lives, and combat that climate change refugees migration.

Same old rubbish still being posted despite being disproven a 100 times already. She really does trigger certain types :cry::cry:

How am I triggered? Explain to me how having a discussion is making me triggered... and who's disproven it?
