I didn't think Wind and Solar generated as much as they do, I see an ever increasing amount of houses now with solar panels.
I think just naturally over time we will crack climate change with more and more solar, wind generation and not to mention electric cars.

Like Dawkins for Atheism, I don't think she's the spokesperson the cause needs as she's too controversial, but I appreciate her efforts and hope she succeeds (as with Dawkins).

The 97% is very easy to debunk. It was done by a grad student. She sent a email to a couple hundred climate scientists asking if they believe in man made climate change. 97% of the people who responded believed in it. The title should have been 97% of people who are in the profession of climate science believe in man made climate change. It's like saying 97% of mediums believe in spirit or 97% believe that man has some impact to make the planet change in some amount. Of course they believe in it. How would they make a living other wise?

FML. This thread makes for some seriously depressing reading. So a teenager is trying to motivate, engage and inspire the next generation and you nutters are calling her all sorts of horrible things because climate change is a hoax and she's a "left-wing puppet"? Wow. You guys need to get out more.
Of course she's not a one-man-band, but how does that discredit everything she is doing? How is the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation or Soros in any way a negative thing?
That's like saying 100% of Oncologists believe in cancer because it lets them make a living. There's observable evidence that the climate is changing and the only variable that can explain it is us. Climate scientists believe it because they've studied it at a high level, they are the experts.

Ok fair point, I've read the Forbes one from your list. Even if that stat was/is complete and utter ********, it doesn't take a scientist to understand that global emissions are a massive problem. Fossil fuels are finite, fossil fuel pollution is a huge health problem (exhaust emissions, coal power stations etc), and a huge environmental problem for other species critical to our survival. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many reasons to move away from fossil fuels (and meat - which I haven't touched on). Maybe that's why it makes sense for Greta do spearhead this movement after all.
Looking further at the Forbes link, it's written by a biased Fossil Fuels advocate. Great.
