Played this today SP obviously and i'm liking it. Never expected it to be a race sim (go play Iracing etc etc).

Also different tracks and different cars as soon as you start season 2. Looks to me a lot of people have their opinion without even playing the game, or like an hour tops.

GFX game looks good runs great. But tbh the reason most of us will buy this is the MP madness with a couple mates on teamspeak. And I think this game will be great fun just for that. Bought this for 20 quid and well worth it tbh just for that.

They never marketed this game as a simracer, GRID 1 wasnt sim either..far from it.

yeah with multi this will be excellent and mainly the reason i brought it ;)

But nooooooooooooooooo, you just reset in the blink of any eye back onto the track the minute you deviate from the road.

release date changed on the steam page, lmoore on the cm forums is looking into it, seems they are clueless

we understand that you arnt buying it but its first day and someone has started to unlock it so obviously with bit of tweaking it should be fine.

I would have bought it if there was a cockpit camera. How are they going to add animations to that? Are the going to redesign all the cockpit textures for every car?

I'm complaining because I loved the first Grid and am disappointed in what they have done to this.
 
someone tweaks it like they do with all other grid games and dirt games.

have you looked at previous mods done ?

there are a lot of dirt and grid mods some very big some realism. all the tools for doing whatever is needed are already available.

so basically its just a case of if anyone wants to do it and as its one of the most talked about things at the moment i really do think someone will do it quite soon.
 
Dirt and Grid already had cockpit view in the game. Someone modding it didn't have to make the arm animations and I doubt the wheel even moves. Its going to be a lot of work to do any of that and then it won't even work online so it'll be a bit pointless.

so what will they do ?

they will use what ever needs doing form previous games . lorre has just said himself that it will be modded soon and he looks forward to what is done.

What you're looking at could quite easily have been done. Would we have been slammed seven feet into the ground for the very poor quality, lack of texture resolution, excessive use of blur? Yes we would have. It's in no means a representive of the quality of the rest of the game (which was always the biggets problem).



Sure someone will mod something in soon enough, look forward to seeing what they do.
 
This is a cut and paste from Dirt showdown so there was no cockpit cam present in the first place. Surely any MOD would involve drawing all the internal shots of the cars etc. Seems like a lot of work for an amateur dev and even for a complete team hence why there is none. ?
 
After a quick play it seems very good. No-cockpit view doesn't bother me in the slightest, hood view is fine. If I want to drive a sim I can quite happily plug my wheel and pedals and drive iracing anyway. This is a game for my X360 pad, to relax and play. Seems very good at it, although I've always liked the Codies games for just pure fun.
 
i think its very good, coastal road is gorgeous, you will struggle running it on ultra at a constant 60fps at 2560x1440 with gtx 670 sli, i have to knock the shadows and particles down to high.
 
I must admit it is growing on me a bit. The only things I'm finding really annoying are the commentator keep calling me "Pal" and the Rewind in the middle of the screen each time I scrape a barrier or other car.

I think online races will be a lot more fun.
 
Question for the guys that are playing currently, couple of my american friends have noticed the ingame volume is quite low, they are both using headphones with xfi cards, cant find any info about this anywhere so im assuming its their systems but thought id ask here just incase.

Same issue here, voices and music louder than engine but I still have to turn my volume up to hear everything.
