GRiD Reviews Coming........

Overclockers always seem harsh on Codemasters' racing titles; other forums I go on are 90% positive, with the other guys hating the handling because they are sim fans.
Did you actually drive the rally cars in DIRT? They accelerated at a crazy rate, stopped on a sixpence, didn't drift so no slidey arcade fun, didn't handle anything like a real car etc etc... It was just plain wrong. Again with Grid it just feels wrong for reasons I have already stated. It has nothing to do with wanting a sim racer, it's just the game feels crap to me, simple as.

Yes I did, but even if it DOES do all those things - it's still fun. That's what I wanted out of it, something that was fun. I don't care about how realistic the acceleration was for god's sake :S.

what he said
terrible game well demo was

I thought the demo was good fun, though i won't be investing in the game any-time soon, GTA4 still being played and MGS4 on the horizon.

I thought the demo looked abit better on 360 than ps3 but i didnt try hdmi on both demo's and the difference was little , i reckon i will get the 360 version just for the achievements .

Played both demos through HDMI, identical!

The differences as far as I know is that the 360 is 4xAA and the PS3 version is 2xAA, not anything too serious, I've seen both running and they look pretty much look identical as josh above said.

My favourite racer of the next gen titles was DIRT, so GRID is a definite buy for me.
Racers on next gen systems have been dull to me, GT5, The burnouts, TDU, PGR's, the only other i got on with was forza, but that got boring quite quickly too.

Roll on GRID!

I haven't played the demo (or anything lately) so will be intrested to see what the handling is really like after some terrible feedback from OCUKer's I trust

Can't belive this is getting good reviews, the game almost works on the 360, however on the PC its really bad, yes it looks great, yes the crash damage is quite good, however the lack of a gearbox so i can use the G25 proper is really getting on my nerves and the fact the cars don't drive like real ones was enough to put me off buying the game on any platform.

I played the demo of this today and I have to say the handling of the cars is appalling - feels like you are driving on ice as it's so twitchy and over sensitive!!!

I hope they don't ruin F1 with this game engine!!!

Pfft 9/10??/...what are they smoking??...theres no way in hell this game deserves a 9/10 tbqh. Dont get me wrong its a decent enough game but the shoddy and quite frankly crappy/unrealistic handling seriously put me off the game. If going by the demo, it would be lucky to get 6 or a 7 out of 10 from me.

Only way id play this game is when it becomes dirt cheap, like under a tenner or something:p. Otherwise for me i wont waste £40 on it...

although earlier in this thread i said i would buy it, i've given the demo more time and have now changed my mind...

it really is bad, i like the damage, the graphics, the polished feel but when it comes to the most important factor the handling, it really is very, very pants.

think they really screwed the pooch when they went for the arcadey feel and didn't even get that right  - its kinda like a really messed up mid-point between sim and arcade, incredibly inconsistent and stodgy feeling...
