Well for lunch i ate a whole Birds eye chilli, had to run and get milk even that it didnt solve the problem,

Gave the maintenance guy one and was promptly called a little A hole.

Chilli chocolate is going down a storm, the women all love it in work,

Who would like to swap seeds? Me and Mr SkeeterPSA have come to the agreement that we would send 20 seeds to each other of a different kind, thus meaning we down have to mess around with payments for postage and stuff.

ANyone here intrested.

could someone ID this chilli plant for me? I was given it as a present and the guys that bought it have no idea what it is beyond "apparently its Thai"

The large chilli shown here is ~ 1.5-2 inches

(click for bigger)
you can see some of the white flowers in the background as well

my chillies are still green :/ they not grown any bigger and have been like this for like 3 weeks. how long does ripening take?

What kind you got?

I have a boring day ahead of me so will go put my google skills to the test.

Ohh also what size are they, my Appaches have stoped at the length advised, so leaving them to let them go red

I'm not having much luck with pollenation. First chilli is through, but that seemed to pollenate itself.

I've tried tapping, end of a cotton bud, small screwdriver lol. Any tips to get these bad boys going as I've tones of flowers that are dying and falling off.

Ta.

they are just from a bag of 'medium' chillies from tesco and are about 2 inches in length

Shake the branches or flick the flowers to pollinate.

Superhot Thai Demon F1 Chilli Seeds

A new hybrid Thai chilli producing small uniform fruits 7-8cm long. Extremely hot pungency. Fruit set is predominately on the outside of the plant aiding harvest. This new hybrid is extremely high yielding and an excellent new variety which has greatly improved the Thai chilli type, bearing prolific flowers and fruit from just 70 days after planting. 150,000ScU

Still looking for ripening times

From chillisgalore

Chillis are in the same family as tomatoes and potatoes. They are grown for their fruits, which are usually picked when green, although they can be left to turn red on the bush, which usually takes about another 2 to 3 weeks. They are best picked green as leaving them on the plant until red will not improve on the flavour. Chillis will grow in similar conditions to tomatoes although better results are achieved in higher temperatures and humidity. A better crop will be achieved by growing under glass, although they can be cultivated outdoors in sheltered sites with plenty of sun.

So im thinking once they stop growing they will turn after about 2-3 weeks

Edit: Here are the ones that i bought, i think they must be Super hot Thai's Im comming round to the hybrid idea, i would love to cross a Nagga with a bell.

Well as far as i understand it, all you are doing is mixing together 2 things in a flower, u dont spread it from one to the other you are just trying to get the stuff to mix per flower.

This is getting irritating now, had loads of chillies come through, flower drops off and they start to grow, then the stalk just falls off the plant :(
