** GT REPLACEMENT - Watercooling Optimised Fan **

Hi Guys

So Silverstone have come back to me this morning with pricing quotes for my new 'rjkoneill designed SST-FQ121WC'

this fan is being built to my exact spec :D

Silverstone have been working around the clock to get this built for me.

I should have my samples early next month.

the fan will probably be a little more expensive than the standard FQ121 as they are being made in much smaller quantities, but will have the added advantage of a better spec.

I wont give too much away but it is essentially the following:

- SST-FQ121 Frame and Blade design
- No sticker on the front of the fan.
- Colour Black Blades / Black Frame
- Same Bearing as SST-FQ121
- No PWM
- 3 Pin Connector in black.

The lack of PWM means it is ideal for watercooling enthusiasts looking to run their system on a fan control unit. This will be perfect for users running low FPI radiators and Smart controllers like the Aquaero as the noise level and speed will be able to be tuned.

Given the performance I have seen from the standard FQ121 run in 3 pin

This is exactly what I want. Will look out for these next month.

Given the performance I have seen from the standard FQ121 run in 3 pin configuration and used on a fan controller, it showed promising performance even at low fan speeds.

So these special editions wouldn't be much good on AIO high FPI rads, such as the h100i?

Any ideas on static pressures?

who said that?

it would be decent on a H100i. the Static Pressure is in the OP

It will work with all radiators and heatsinks but will be ideal for thick, low FPI custom WC radiators.

Just your quote about ideal for low FPI rads, thats all. I thought you might have used the fans they use for their own AIO, as you previously said that they perform slightly different to the white and blue ones.

So its basically a redesign of the white and blue ones with the same stats?

they are ideal for lower FPI rads. but that doesnt mean they dont work with denser finned rads.

The ones I have on the way are the same as the white and blue version at 100% speed all the time.

very few watercoolers use PWM and instead have their system ran by smart controllers meaning that PWM is pointless.

depends what fans you have currently. if you have decent static pressure fans, you wont see a big difference.

the rjkoneill specials are on the way to me in a few days...

I will update when they arrive with some images and some information.

Looking forward to seeing the new ones, could you recommend a good (not necessarily most expensive) fan controller and 140mm fan to go with them?

The H2Flo Extreme I have is basically an old Corsair H80 IIRC, so I'd think one of these with the high static pressure in push configuration would be perfect based on earlier feedback, plus use a few to replace the other case fans, including old, dying top fan. Can you recommend a 140mm that'd work well with these in terms of performance and audible profile?

Also small aside and a cheeky/perhaps slightly lazy ask but do you do any screw/accessory kits, I can't for the life of me find the old H2Flo box and that had the remaining screws in it and right now the fan I have is in pull configuration. :(
