GT5 Academy Times Thread

Thought it would be good to have our times in a separate thread from the bickering

I'll start:

Tuned Car - 1.41.830 - TC 7, AT
Normal Car - 1.53.763 - TC 7, AT

Done with a pad. The reason for using auto is that I hate changing gears on a pad, I reckon I can shave a few seconds off by using a wheel and MT.

Tuned 1.46.xxx

Can you say if you changed traction control and are using auto/manual.

Mine was TC set to 0 and manual

(think you can only change the settings on the tuned car)

The skill showing within the times already is incredible.
Me im spinning lots trying to get the hang of the car before I can even start to go fast.

I like that its difficult as that requires more skill.

My friend keeps saying this Cant control the car and so he's decided it's crap and "the controls are stupid" Love it

Standard 1.57.844
Tuned 1.44.206

Ive been having a go at this the past hour.
Think Ive got the setting I like on the PWTS now and gradually getting better on the track.

The physics are definately upgraded over GT5P and the more you learn to push the more Ive found I notice the difference. Particulary in wheel compensation in oversteer/understeer.


In game FFB = MAX with Professional mode steering.
Car with no aids and TC off

PWTS Settings:
SENS 900 Degrees
FFB 66%
ABS 5% (I feel the brakes vibrate/wheel rim at 5%)
Drift Mode = Off

My best so far:
Tuned 1'38.884

Is your wheel having any problems on GT5? Mine is fine with forza, tried it on this game for the laptimes and it seems to stutter atrociously........

Edit - I don't seem to be able to change any handling settings in either car for some reason with the EU version. I could in the Jap one though

i had a couple of laps and i got 1:56 lol.
not sure if i have the patience to get into this with such little content.
maybe i'l give it another go some time.

I'll head over there, it is as if the wheel is vibrating through the turns in game. The actual wheel it's self, is fine, but during game play, it is as if I am shaking/wobbling the wheel through the bends :/
