I see you guys are finding this difficult too as some of the times in the 40s
Come on lads.

I'll head over there, it is as if the wheel is vibrating through the turns in game. The actual wheel it's self, is fine, but during game play, it is as if I am shaking/wobbling the wheel through the bends :/

Run the wheel in 540 or 900 sensativity
It def feels jumpy in lesser setrings I noticed.

Had a few more shots today in the tuned car. Forgot to take TC off and was in AT but managed to lower my time to 1.43.065 using a pad.

Been playing for the last half an hour.. I'm really sorry but cars on track! Do not slide as much as this bloody thing does.

Got into low 1:43's probs get it to 1:42 with alittle more time but it really is silly.

If your in the tuned car its obvious you must be going in waaay too fast and skidding wide etc.
Think about it your 7 SECONDS off the top time.

7 seconds of boring sim driving that with a pad feels wrong is what I'm off the top time.

They are killing my fav racer here.

You are the only person in this thread who has dropped below 1:40..

Meh the GT academy lad's who went through last year (or was it this year) were mostly rubbish behind the wheel of a real car anyway.

Well if you look on the leaderboards Id be certain their are pad times still 6 seconds faster. Id agree this is definately more difficult but when you start getting it under control it feels great.
My own time is nothing special at all, I need to find a second before Im content but reckon I can do it.

I'm trying really I am lol. I can't gauge the sense of speed I guess.

Does that include the bloke who won it and ended up 2nd in his class in GT4?

Well, after 10 laps...

Normal: 1:58:254
Tuned: 1:44:788

Took me 6 of those 10 to get under 2 minutes, it's nails! :P

[Edit]: New tuned time

1:39.004 thats with a pad, I am normally quite good at driving sims, played GPL, F1GP , cant believe I am so far off the pace, very suspicious if you ask me.

My best after a few laps in the tuned car is:

1.41.574

Thats with a pad. Not gonna bother with the regular car as you can't turn the traction control off! Will try a few more laps tonight i reckon.

well after a few more laps im down to 1.40.261 TC0 and on the PAD using the tuned car.

should be able to get down to 1.38's eventualy as there feels like theres a few spots i can take a bit more time out :D

New Personal Best For Me
Tuned
1'37.417

Only about a tenth of a second now outside the Top100
More improvement to come as the track knowledge increases.

~1.41.6 Tuned

Edit - I don't seem to be able to change any handling settings in either car for some reason with the EU version. I could in the Jap one though

What you mean?
I just downloaded the JAP & USA releases
Looks to have identical options to the UK version.

Did notice however the JAP release had people from various countries like AUS/CAN/BRA/USA.

What was surprising is their times are quite a bit off the UK times.

The No.1UK time is
0.8 faster than the current JAP Version No.1 time
0.1 faster than the current USA Version No.1 time

However the UK times seem to be in general to a higher standard as I would be placed well within the Top 100 in both USA / JAP with my current time.

Thought i might as well post mine only spent about half hour having a go and so far (i expect to get better)

Using a pad :(
I need a wheel

Non tuned-1:54.008
Tuned-1:40.402

I really can't get on with this :) I need a wheel G27? :P

Best to buy a G25 on discount if you want Logitech.
G27 too high a premium around £300 for little improvement.

Do consider however the Fanatec models and if you dont need the X360 support then Id recommend you buy the Fanatec GT3RS wheel.
By far the most comfortable with its Alacantara leather used in the real GT3RS Porsche.

If your new to wheels maybe start with the Logitech GT wheel available for around £50+ at the moment. Some of the guys at GTF have them and are doing well on the leaderboards.
