Yeah the really far away ones do look noticably bitmappy.

But yes it looks stunning.
But I didn't buy forza for graphics i bought it for gameplay, same reason i bought GT3 A spec. I wan't the gameplay to be hot.
Yeah, I haven't seen a huge improvement in the driving model from GT1 all the way through to GT4. I know the PS3 has CPU power to burn but it doesn't necessarily mean the physics have been improved substantially. All that eye candy means little if we don't get more realistic handling.cheets64 said:Nearly everybody in the thread has gone on about the graphics, no mention of what the physics will be like.

PD has completely rewritten both the physics and graphics engines for GT4 even after GT3 and Concept took the old engines so far.
Rewritten doesn't necessarily mean massively better. The difference between the physics in Forza 2 and GT4 is massive. Forza 2 feels like a simulation, GT4 feels like just a game. Also the other cars in GT4 are effectively on rails, whereas in Forza 2 if you nudge a car in the rear you can set him into a massive slide or spin which he has to recover from since your car and the AI are all using the same 300 Hz physics. Hit another car in GT4 and it feels like it's glued down. Plus the AI in Forza 2, while not perfect, is damn fun to race against, the way they'll try to take a new line to get round you if you're on the racing line. It's still not as good as racing against other people of course but it's getting closer. The AI actually uses a neural net so the AI are constantly learning and improving.knowledge123 said:This is blatantly a lie, GT4 used a brand new physics engine![]()

Like I said they're not perfect, they will sometimes just hit you for no reason. Most of the time they're pretty good to race against though. The CPU in the PS2 isn't strictly relevant since Richard Burns Rally had awesome physics on the PS2.JUMPURS said:Comparing GT4 with FM2 is rather funny, on all sides tbh.
As for the AI in forza 2, i find it just as bad as the GT AI. jsut barging its way past you 'That's my racing line'

They are textured onto surface planes, akin to a billboard. They are 100% flat.simon50 said:Yeah the really far away ones do look noticably bitmappy.
