GTA 4 PS3 vs 360

what is good about it?
a magazine gives info
some guy rants that its not true because they dont want it to be
yeah good one
do you know better than this magazine then
which is not sponsored by microsoft but facts like that dont matter cant be true cause he has a ps3 right?
3rd party magazines get exclusive looks and news all the time do you people even look outside of the internet?

Think the point is that it wasnt a third party mag as such, it was a free GTA4 promo mag sponsored by Microsoft that came with the mag, basically a huge advert for GTA4 on the 360 and other 360 games. Nothing wrong with that of course as thats how these mags keep going with revenue from publishers and console manufactures amongst others.

For those still undecided on which version to pre order - hurry up! Several high st and online stores are no longer taking pre orders as they have already allocated their first day allotments. I can foresee this selling out in stores on the day of release (not to mention all the kids trying to buy it), there will be tears!

I have lost count of the amount of times I have heard this said for each of the latest and greatest new games to come out.
I am absolutly confident that I will have no problem walking in to a high st store on release day and purchasing a copy of this game.

I am normally confident also, but as my favourite retailer had a forum post saying there is manufacturing issues for day one of this game. And considering other sites are not taking pre-orders I think this could be the case this time.

If there is a shortage Take Two etc can join the ranks of stupidity only reached by Nintendo so far in having software shortages. It's not like distributing games on optical media is a new process ffs!!

I would think that the stores have to keep a certain amount of stock for actual over the counter sales, and not allocate all of it to pre-orders.
I will be in there at opening time :)

What would be the point in that?

They will take and give out as many pre-orders as they can to maximise profit. They won't hold some back just to be nice to people who haven't pre-ordered :)

I won't buy it has soon has it comes out has I've learnt only fools do that. I mean I'm not prepared to pay £40+ for a game that would make myself look beyond retarded. Most I've paid a 360 game was £23 and that was for Mass Effect. Dam I love that game it's stole what little of a life I had.

Why so you feel the need to be nasty and call other fools? I see stuff everyday on these forums that is stupid but I don't see the need to be nasty, or be derisive to others.

You make it sound like we are being ripped off and you are the only one who has realised.

The game is £49.99 RRP most people on this forum will be buying it for less than £38.99. A fair saving I think (A lot will get it lower than that).

so you are saying it is lies?
you think they paid all that money for something insignificant?
ms might be rich but they are not stupid they paid a lot for good reason

Future Publishing have just released their CVG GTA IV special. The whole magazine is dedicated to the biggest videogame franchise of the 21st Century. What stands out is their blatant lust for the Xbox 360 version over the PlayStation 3 version. Why? Because of the Downloadable Content of course. CVG compares the Xbox 360 exclusive DLC to the Vice City & San Andreas games in space and scope, and claims the DLC will feature a brand new city.

I've included the whole quote here so the comments can be viewed in their full context.

"Of course, to call games as vastly ambitious as Vice City or San Andreas mere 'expansion packs' seems childish, but nevertheless, the downloadable content (DLC) coming for the Xbox 360 version of IV has repositioned those games in just this way. DLC so far has meant the odd new car, jumper of bit of horse armour, but GTA IV is set to completely redefine the idea with expansions that are to GTA IV what Vice City or San Andreas were GTA III. Yes, Rockstar is clearly hinting at new downloadable cities; and the chances of them being London, Vice City or SA again are slim to none. So that's new as in brand new. GTA IV's Liberty City is the beginning. Think about that and be excite

How can a review take into account content that isn't there yet?? Add to that, not everyone will be wanting to buy their DLC. Review the games on what is released, then review the DLC later imo.

I also remember when Guitar Hero 2 on the xbox 360 was going to revolutionize Downloadable COntent. How nothing was ever going to compare to it. Until they released 3 songs from GH1 at over the top prices that nobody would pay for :(
