Was reading something yesterday about people getting fed up with these massive cities in GTA.

Like GTA IV its all 'city'
Not played all the GTA games so i can only think of San Andreas. Where the map had its city's but then there was the desert up north near where the army place was. I remember a massive mountain in the West. I liked it like that so theres some variety.

So my question is, Where would you want the next GTA to be based?
City with some greenland? No city at all etc etc

I wouldn't mind a bit of everything really! And hell i want to be able to fly loads of planes again ;) Loved in SA there was this one massive bunker with a huge plane in hehe

I think San Andreas had the best map of the lot but I did quite like both Vice City and GTA IV as well.

I find it does take me a wee while to get used to the lay of the land but after a while it's easy enough to get from one place to another (in fact it was even easier with GTAIV due to the navigation system).

I do love the taxi's in gta iv - saves so much time. Not used the train things actually, hehe loved that train in SA ;)

I think SA was a little bit too big at times, VC was about right however. I haven't played 4 for more than half an hour so can't really comment on that.

GTA5, hmmm, definately out of LC, it's always too dark and dingy (in both GTA3 and the bit I played of 4), with a nice amount of terrain and "hidden" areas.

SA map with taxi's would be ***,
ill have to play VC - downloaded the rockstar pack so i'll have to check it out soon.

SA ^^^Forgot there was that much green :O , lots of green lots of desert and 'lots' of city!

Have to say I think SA was the best GTA to date imho. I think the next one should be in based in South America maybe Mexico/Columbia would be quite a good location. Lots of different warring factions, crime, and drug trafficking I think it could be great. Bigger the map the better with jungle and urban areas.

Even better would be if they did one set in Edinburgh instead of leaving loads of easter eggs in the games. The Forth Rail Bridge in SA cracked me up when I saw it in game I think the Forth Road Bridge may be in there too although I cant quite remember.

Funny, I was thinking a similar thing a few days ago, and I ended up thinking that it would be great if the maps were smaller, but instead all the buildings could be entered, provided there was enough interior variety. And I mean each individual room in every building.

It should be possible now. A few years back maps that were tiny compared by today's standards were considered huge, so this could be a first step in creatinig maps where EVERYTHING would be accessable.

So, for the next GTA I'd like to be able to go inside all buildings and the actual map size wouldn't really matter all that much. That also means that any surrounding countryside would be completely unimportant to me.

There's no reason why they couldn't do Scotland like San Andreas. You've got Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen as the three cities. I want a haggis eating minigame. How many can you eat before you puke? And tossing the caber! And rampage using only Scottish kisses. :D

I loved San Andreas with its variety of wide open areas, hick towns and cities. I hope the next GTA follows this path, though maybe in the far north of America or Canada. Then they could have winter vehicles like skidoos as well as having the character skiing. You could fight the mounties!

Alternatively somewhere in Europe like Rome and its suburbs.

I thought Vice City had a nice balance of everything.

Next location I would like to see? I would prefer them to come up with their own city to be honest.

If it had to be a city then perhaps Bangkok, plenty of road there.

I hated SA because of the desert and countryside, didnt seem to be quite enough quests out there and found myself with some tedious LONG drives through it, with taxi rides I wouldnt have minded...
VC was my fav.

Should be London. Have to pay congestion charges and sit in traffic for most of the game and get caught out on everything you do because of all the CCTV :D
