Umm deus ex was a good looking game back then!

True, but I was replaying it long after other titles looked better.

Then the mod community added better textures etc. The only reason that games develop these communities is if the game play is great.

Another great game Freespace 2 - bought thet on GoG about 2 years ago and replayed it. That was released in 1999 !

Those new screenshots from Rockstar look awful

After the amount of money they spent developing this game (high 8 figures yes thats right its rumoured to cost around $100m in dev costs for all versions...but has generated over a billion so they got their money back long ago) I expected so much more its only slightly better looking than DX9 games from years ago

I was not really bothered about this game either way as I hated GTA4 gameplay & most of the characters (radio stations were good though) so will & can wait a few months until it goes down to 50-66% off all its worth to me the reason for the lengthy delay on PC is obviously the complexity of squeezing the game engine onto all the different PC hardware combinations & squashing the bugs (no doubt @ launch it will still need many patches & fixes like GTA4 did).

Do you ever post anything positive about any game? Every time I see your name in a thread it's always moaning about something.

It's interesting to read all the comments about what the game looks like.

I started gaming on a BBC model B where graphics were - err - limited to say the least. I tend to judge games by the gameplay over the graphics.

Games like Vampire the Masqurade, Deus-Ex are certainly not even in the same ballpark as modern games but they stood out because of the game, the story, the gameplay.

I am looking forward a lot to GTA5, how it looks will certainly be a 'nice to have' but it is certainly not the only thing I will judge it on....

The GTA game a replayed the most was Vice City, the feel of the city was great. Plus sitting on the beach listening to Mister Mister was just so evocative.

I feel the same about Vice City. I was hooked on it for a good while, replaying it etc as well as trying to get a true 100% completion. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

These two sum up my gaming preferences in a nutshell. Gameplay over eye candy any day of the week for me. This is the probably the reason why retro games are so popular now and back in vogue (Braid, Shadow Complex, FEZ, Miami Hotline etc).

A lot of them are unbelievably addictive and ooze playability but most are nothing to look at either. GTAV doesn't need to be 'a looker' in my honest opinion because it has the gameplay and that's what counts.

I will be honest, I'm now thinking about pre ordering as you do get £1,500,000...

Hmmmm.

not worth
Pre-purchase and get $1,200,000 in-game ($500,000 for Grand Theft Auto V and $700,000 for Grand Theft Auto Online).

should be 1.2m Single player only...

This x100.

DON'T PRE ORDER. It is just a stupid tax.

If Ubisoft had had no pre-orders the last Assassin's Creed would have bombed and taught them a real lesson.

Wish Id learnt my lesson about pre orders dammit !!

In the past I did it so I could preload before release but 9-10 times there a huge day one patch ...so it gets released and you still can't friggin play it

Unless specifically stated that it is a steam key we have no idea how redeeming will work.

Personally I am going to wait to find out whether it is a good port from a reliable source. If it is I'm going to get the steam version from the steam store as I know that the game will be worth £40.

If the port is trash i will take my money elsewhere. Probably play one of the many good games I missed before I started pc gaming.

CDKeys is a Rockstar Social key.(*)

Unless it specifies Steam in the product description, then expect it to be Rockstar.
I cancelled with CDKeys as it was Rockstar, not steam. The link is misleading as it mentions Steam. (*) Subject to change depending upon source of keys

I have to agree, I don't get the whole pre-order thing.

The game won't sell out on the day. Wait for proper reviews before wasting money/encouraging more tat.

The pre order cash you get, for the online portion of the game, how much of a difference do you think it will make, as opposed to not pre ordering and starting at $0?

Oh poo on the bed, however will I manage starting from the beginning like the game is meant to be played. God forbid that I actually have to earn any progression in 2015.

Honestly people who pre order for a leg up on everyone else are the worst. You are encouraging ****** game marketing and punishing people with logical purchasing habits.
