GTA V

Why is their such a big fuss over pre-ordering games recently?

Because in 99% of cases it is objectively pointless. You gain nothing or something insignificant and risk money on a game that hasn't been reviewed yet.

And with the amount of over hyped crappy games people have begun to realise that the risk of £30+ isn't worth the benefit of a cosmetic skin.

It's worth a play. I actually prefer the story in GTA IV to V and the damage engine for cars seems a lot better.

I played GTA V again today on ps3. The missions are fun but the resolution and framerate were too low to feel immersed in the world.

Cant wait for some mods for V like there were in IV where if you went flying into a wall it would completely total the car.

I have high hopes for GTA V because of the way Max Payne 3 runs. I played MP3 again today and it runs flawlessly, butter smooth.

Max Payne is not a open world sandbox. Once you have all the cars and the AI walking about it is in a totally different ball park to MP 3. MP3 is just a interactive story book, albeit a very good one.

MP3 may be a totally different animal compared to an open world GTA V, but the fact that MP3 runs flawlessly on my rig tells me that Rockstar have pulled their socks up on the PC ports and that GTA V should be hopefully more of the same.

That is true. I hope that's where my SSD comes in handy, if the game is fully optimized of course.

Any game that uses data streaming to load assets on the fly will see a performance benefit from an SSD, if not in raw FPS then in drastically reducing object pop-in and blurry textures.

Well I currently have an unformatted SSD in my system that I will use for GTA V, if the port is good, when it comes out.

I'm buying a couple of 500gig 850 evo's to hold my entire gaming library soon! Raid 0 :P

I've got 20GB left on my OS SSD atm, and I can't make enough room for 65 gigs :( It's only a 128GB!

I'm looking at getting a 2nd hand 250Gb 840 Evo in the near future to put GTAV etc on it. Currently got the 120Gb model (which it'll replace) but only got about 40Gb left, damn it :(

Same as me but going with a BX100 this time, 500GB BX100 has just released and is available for £135, going to wait till the beginning of April to buy one, spent to much already :/
