Single player for a bit for me, huge fan of GTA stories and this game is apparently quite good. But also the exploration and rampages :) without having to worry about others online trying to screw you over.
I had that in GTA 4 online, kept getting killed in every way possible as soon as I spawned.

Also online could possibly be a bit of a mess the first day or two, so I will wait and see what people say about it
 
does anyone know if our nickname we used to sign up for Rockstar social club will be our 'in game' name, or do we get to choose another when we set the game up?

story is pretty good in deed i ended up doing it 3 times on the PS & most of the side stuff & still buying it on PC :)

i was a bit worried that this may turn out to be like the MP for Just-Cause 2, i found that a Massive let down as there wasnt much to do appart from causing carnage, and that got boring real quick

well the hiests are fun but open-play is just driving down the street to find somone with more money just shot a rocket launcher at you and killed you...

you can go into no pvp mode but then you cannot do much

i ended up just robbing shops to make money
 
Where to buy?

Don't mind paying full price if the best place to buy is Steam.

Anyone got any idea how the multiplayer match making/friends is going to work?
 
Don't use have to reach a certain point in the SP before you can access MP?

I enjoy the SP loads hut for the evening with the TS lads it will be a multiplayer fest I think, could be some epic gameplay moments, there is normally around 10 of us on from here and we do have a good laugh.

Think I will just spend me MP in game money on a Monster Truck so that I can go ragging it round offroad.
 
VAC won't be around. It will be done all through R*'s servers and systems. Valve will just be a pre-launcher. So updates will run through Rockstar, not steam.

The above is based on how Rockstar do all their games and will be shocked if it changes this time, so will be getting a non-steam key instead.
 
I ordered originally on CJS, but after their description changed I asked for a refund and got the usual patter that others had etc.

Told them in no uncertain terms that they had no statutory right to withhold the refund and told them to refund asap, not after the keys had been given out. (Load of bumf that is btw)

Got a refund today.

CJS will never get any cash off me again. Out of about 5 transactions, 2 have had issues (GW2 and GTAV) which isn't a great ratio.

Roll on release. :D
 
GTA has always been about so dye to its great variety of missions and narrative. So it will be so first then mp and the way I play games it will take months or a yr to finish the sp like it took me for GTA 4 where I bought it at release had performance issues and was a bit dull the story at start then months past fps got better via patches or command line. Then a upgrade here and there and then I finished the story just last year. Lol. Still gotta finish the expansions.

Still waiting for mine (they haven't even responded to my ticket yet!), but good to hear that you all have been successful with getting a refund. I feel the same as you about future dealings with them, will be getting my keys elsewhere.

That's disappointing to hear, I didn't bother with multiplayer when I played the PS3 version, so that's the main thing that was tempting me to get it on PC (not that I finished single player either).

it might be different now but anyone with money was just trolling most new players. if its pc only ( i assume this will be fine as we all will be even)
