There are about 10ish torrents currently offering the game files, most are the unlocked RSSC files and uploaded by the big piracy groups. However speeds are kinda slow as most have a 1 to 10 seed to peer ratio.

CJs Keys are running an "official" torrent as they cannot host the files themselves due to size. Currently using that and getting fairly meh speeds (on a 500KB connection) whilst I wait for the pre order bonus to go away on steam.

Public trackers are generally useless though. There's a private torrent with 874 seeds and only 243 leechers, and a fair amount of those seeds are probably running seedboxes.

I suppose the more people who bought rockstar keys using torrents instead will put less strain on the rockstar servers and help increase speeds.
 
June 6th = redundancy from my current employers. Getting double figure K payout/off. Once debts paid off and LOTS aside for bills until new job starts and in need of new PC or upgrading current one..

Buy now or Buy later..?

Not if past ones are to go by as lack of ai and other scripts running and general lack of heavy shooting or explosions puts the benchmark in game a bit lacking in use. For no action tho I guess a general fps result can come from it but nothing useful for true gameplay fps.

I would say go retail to save a bit of money, you will get the key quickly and then if the rockstar client doesn't work for you get the CJS torrent

I got lucky and got 12mbps on it, literally spent from 5pm yesterday trying to do it via the rockstar client and then went on this torrent, downloaded and ready to rock within 2 hours :)

Also, now that I have downloaded it, the countdown timer is killing me :( haha cant win with this one

When i download the first file i get an adware warning from Avira?
 
If a friend has really fast fibre optic internet and I have a rubbish broadband connection via wireless, can I copy his downloaded gta 5 downloaded folder on steam to my external hard drive and just put it on my PC? Apparently he cannot back up the game files by right clicking the game.
 
You can only do that after it unlock/decrypts on launch.

I tried to copy the encrypted steam file over already but steam didn't like it and just started downloading it all again.
 
Once the files unlock you can back them up to an external drive no problem.

Just right now I don't think it will work while locked/encrypted, at least I couldn't make it work :(
