GTA V

millions will buy next gen consoles for it

but millions will buy it on current gen. Its one last massive release for old gen consoles it makes perfect business sense. people who don't have one will buy a cheap xbox sign up to xbnox live and buy the game peopel who do have it get to enjoy one last good release on a console that is soon to be replaced.

Plus they can re-release it on next gen and everyone will buy it again.

I think most people forget with all this next-gen stuff is that GTA V has probably been into production for about 2-3 years yet the next-gen dev kits have probably only been around for 6 months - 1 year and even that would be in very limited quantity. It's not like Sony/MS can provide 50-100 dev kits needed for a studio a year before launch and I doubt Rockstar would want to pay the fee of having 50-100 dev kits a year before launch :p

I bet the dev kits will almost half in price after launch (depending on how well they sell at retail and how many products Sony/MS want to get on their consoles) and will leave the developers with a lot less pressure if they were to port it rather than having a same day release with last gen and next gen. Rockstar doesn't need to release on next-gen this year so why take the risk of having a none polished game competing with games that are solely developed for next-gen.

No doubt we will see a PC/maybe next-gen port next summer time which is perfect for the usual gaming drought!

it would be unthinkable that GTA V would not come to next gen at some point, the simple reason for that is DLC, RS cannot hope that everyone holds on to their current gen for up to a year after a new console is out, its to much of a risk if the DLC is planned & given how well they did with GTA IV's DLC you know they will have some.

clearly they don't want to talk about it as they need it to make money on current gen + get a double dip on next gen, so by talking about it now they could risk people holding off and then never getting it so in my view this is how it will role out.

Sep 2013 current Gen (everyone loves it, DLC wanted)

Feb - April 2014 first DLC

Its been up to 6 months of next gen, lots of people would have sold up and moved on, so they may pick this time to go here ya go, GTA V next gen + first DLC, this will be planned on how many Next gen sell.

Sep - Nov 2014 Second DLC

At this point its been a up to a year since next gen came out, if they want to sell DLC on a scale that they need, at the latest they would need next gen now to be on the cards, i,e game of the year version GTA V + all DLC package.

The big question is can you wait, its a hell know for me, double dip it is

You're massively over-estimating the number of people who will have bought PS4s/Xbox Ones within a year following the launch of them. Yes, many people will have moved to the next-gen throughout 2014, but many, many millions more will still be quite happy with their PS3s and 360s.

Would it be feasible to release GTA V for 360 and PS3 then release a next-gen "better" edition for PC/PS4/XOne given that they all run on x86 architecture?

Even if it's just a case of better textures and character models, they have a good 6-9 months to get it ready :)

Uhh...who cares? :p

It really doesn't seem that interesting.

Clearly a lot of people.

Why is there a shed at the top of a mountain by itself? What's in there? Etc. Why would anyone not be interested to know :/

Well you might as well put a shack there if you built the mountain. It will probably appear in the storyline somewhere, but I agree, not sure why people are speculating what's in a shack at this stage.

I reckon it will be for a later mission, where you end up getting chased off the cliff and having to parachute. It will not be accessible normally but for one mission you will end up shooting up the place, no doubt stealing something from a angry mob boss who hid it there.

This is mildly interesting at most. People on Reddit claim that it's either a starting point for base jumping or simply a station for cable carts.

Doesn't seem to be mysterious at all.

A cabin seems a pretty obvious thing to have at the peak of a mountain really.

This too. And considering an open world gameplay, it's a logical thing to put in on an otherwise bare mountain.
