I just want to see 60fps, with decent graphics, at 1080p on a mid spec machine... I feel it won't happen though.

It won't, at least not with everything all the way up.

I would expect PS4 type graphics at 40-60fps graphics a 1080p on a medium-high spec PC depending on what you class as medium spec.

Then higher res and everything turned up (double AA, larger draw distance, higher res textures, more traffic) would probably still struggle to hit 60 at high-crazy spec PCs.

I would go in with those expectations then anything above that is a bonus :D

You must have a poor monitor then or an extremely expensive OLED TV.

My old 50" plasma destroys any monitor I put next to it for gaming.

I too favor the controller over mouse and keyboard for most games bare FPS ones. Which, I've not played a FPS game aside from CSS/CS:GO in a LONGGGGG time. Can't actually think of any FPS I would like to play right now?

What monitors have you used though? The TV doesn't actually make the image better does it, probably just because you're sitting further back, there's still going to be jaggies and less detail on any console game compared to a PC on max settings.

At the moment I haven't seen anything convincing enough to make me part with money for a higher resolution monitor. My BenQ XL2411T is perfectly fine for the time being.

That said, the new Asus ROG monitor looks amazing - but I'd probably only buy that along with two new GPU's.

I've just recently invested in 3x BenQ GL2460HM's, i don't see the need for anything over 1080p at this screen size unless you play games with your nose stuck to the screen.

Not really... for one a bigger screen is always better and my Panasonic Plasma has always looked better than any monitor iv seen. Blacks not too far off OLED. The only games I really play on the pc monitor are ones I have to use a mouse and keyboard for like FPS otherwise TV wins everytime.

Like I said it's only looking better because of the distance you're sitting away so you can't actually see the poorer image, 1080p stretched across a 55" compared to a smaller 1440p or 4k monitor can't look better. On another note if I game sitting on a couch or far back I seem to be far less engaged than I am when I sit up close.

Yup, I have a 56" HDTV (1080P) and there's no way I'd connect it up to a PC for gaming over 3440x1440 of the PC monitor.

Boggles the mind.

Finally a reason to SLI, loved it on console and purposely didn't finish the main story so I could finish it on PC with a keyboard and mouse - which I prefer 10 times over to playing with a controller.

No doubt it will look fantastic at 1440p, I think playing at 4k won't cut it with a mid-range PC.

I'll be playing this on 1080p and try to hit 120hz or close to. I'm sure with a game like GTA that 1440p will trump it even with the motion blur.

If it's being done for PC properly this time, I don't see why it shouldn't tbh

Might have to pick up another 660 at some point lol

Whos betting on another port again?..i just hope they made a separate PC version and not a port like GTA IV.
Im looking forward to seeing what the modding community do to GTA V pc. :D
