GTA4......360 or PS3

GTA is the only game I really play on. I get bored of any other games in 10mins or so. I'll make an exception with the FPshooters kingpin and soldier of fortune 2, I have spent many an hour on these too.

Fast forwarding to October. This will be the first time gta will be released on both consoles simultaneously, what a war in itself this will be. Planning on getting a ps3 in march mainly to watch bluray movies, but hope it will come in useful for gta in october

. Its getting exciting, I bet first screens will be in may/june.

How would gta4 be lead developed? would they make two completely separate versions or would there be a port involved?

it wouldnt be a war per sey. All they are doing is porting the same game from the original source to both console...i guess difference will be down to strength and weaknesses of each console.

I think its really a case of wait and see. MS have announced some exlusive content for GTA4. But I'm sure Sony will get some of their own exclusive content.

Rockstar have already made table tennis which IIRC uses the same game engine that GTA4 will use (it was a kind of tech demo/prototype) So I would imagine that Rockstar (and by Rockstar I think I mean Take 2) have now got more experience with the 360 than the PS3. So it is likely that we will see an insignificant (but perfectly valid for console-wars trash talk) better product on the 360.

Load times may be the only difference.

People need to look at both systems release schedule for 2007/8 and decide which one has the most games u want to play.

The Xbox 360 has a well established online service, yes it costs but its always working, never in my 2 years of playing have I noticed it go down (except for maintainence). Also expect some great exclusives for it this year.

PS3 I cant really comment on since I dont own one, but its online service is free and it will no doubt have some great games coming out for it same as the Xbox 360. Also it works as a cheap(er) blu-ray player

To be honest I would just ask this question closer to the launch since PS3 hasnt even fully launched yet and it has almost no decent titles for it at the moment so its not really fair to judge it yet.

wouldn't the sensible option be to get it on the cheapest available console seeing their is no difference in terms of gameplay or looks between them

If you have live then I'd have thought the 360 version is better if their is online multiplayer.

Other than that I doubt there'll be much difference.

I doubt there will be much if any graphical difference, but personally i'll prefer all games on the 360 because of the better account/live integration and the immensely superior controllers!

I will be getting the 360 version for two reasons
1. Live – I really hope it has online co op or something (I will wet myself if it does)…

2. I don’t have a PS3 nor am I planning on getting one, so the buying the PS3 version will be was waste of time and money

Haven't MS secured all Extra Content for GTA4 via Live? so PS3 version is final, any add-ons etc.. will be 360 only?

I can imagine Rockstar want to keep up their tradition of pushing the boundaries of what people see as expected content in a game, i.e. just how much stuff there is to do n stuff. I would imagine they may make some subtle differences between the two version, with the 360 maybe having better textures n graphics whilst the PS3 could have some better physics to utilise the cell.

Which controller is best really doesnt have argument as the PS3 one rules and anyone who says different can kiss my cherries - joking

I can only hope they manage to put everything onto a single DVD for those 360 owners though

Lol. I think they might manage it or just end up with dual disc edition...Im sure 360 owners dont mind...aint that right?

Ive never been a fan of the GTA series other then 1+ the first 3d one - they are all the same - get so bored of them
