gta4 *moan*

argh! :mad: this last mission is driving me around the bend. i keep failing it due to my own stupidity. i can exit the casino with most of my health/armour intact but so far i've

jumped into the water
rode the bike into the sea
hit a barrel just before the jump
been shot down twice (the heli is such a ***** to control - it was much easier in san andreas :p)

Trouble is cops spawn out of nowhere which kinda spoils the "on the run" feel for me, you're running from one set of cops and next thing you're getting shot by some guy who appeared out of nowhere, it's a cheap way of compensating for the terrible AI.

at least PC's can play it at a decent fps, on the 360 and PS3 walls just magically appear in front of you, whilst driving at about 20 fps

True, but when I played the 360 version it looked better than it does when I wack it on full on my PC.

All the edges etc are just horrible on my PC version. But the laggy FPS on 360 made it unbearable.
 
I bought this from Morrisons for £10.. I still feel ripped off.

E.A are not releasing next gen FIFA on the PC as not enough PC's can run it apparently, they would have a heart attack if they saw the REQUIRED specs for this.

What? So you think it looks better because it lagged :confused:.

The consoles have the same buggered edges/lack of AA as the pc version.
 
For me it's a brilliant game and I enjoyed every second. I only have it on 360 so I can't comment on how it runs on my PC but what I can say is that I haven't experienced a lot of what has been moaned about here. I haven't had any noticeable pop in or frame drops, I haven't really noticed the randomly spawning police and I've really enjoyed the game from start to finish. The characters were really likeable to me and I found that I actually cared about what happened to them. I wonder how many people here forgave Darko ?

finished it this morning and overall it's a damned good game. :cool:

but i must admit, if it wasn't GTA i doubt i would have played it for more than 5 minutes with the all issues i had to begin with.
 
Just reinstalled GTA IV and my halfway completed game save, thanks to this thread. :D
Always enjoyed this game; I saved the second half untill I could upgrade my HD4850 512mb.
Now with my 1gb card I can have high textures.
Agree with you totally marc2003 that overall it is a dammed good game.
Now just to finish my Bioshock save game before Bioshock 2.

casino??? that isnt the last mission :confused:

is there even a casino in gta 4?

EDIT: ok i know what you mean now, i didn't know the old warhouse was a casino :)
just painfully make your way to the chopper bit then take that birdy all the way up! and just watch the radar to make sure your above him, you will be shot down anyway (but in a cutscene) onto 'happiness island' then your free to take him out. SIMPLES :D

warning he has bodygaurds his not alone (i used a sniper so i could ignore the gaurds)

I got my x360 for this game, thinking it would be good for vehicles. Wrong. I find I much prefer the mouse+keyboard camera movement in cars and only use the pad for heli. :D
 
find it dissapointing, not as good as i hoped it would be nor as good as it could be, still is worth playing through, this thread has made me reinstall it, thats a joke.

the camera is annoying how it doesnt follow the car well when cornering, have to tap "c" to smack the camera round to the back.
 
I tore through crysis and crysis warhead max out no probs now I shall burn through this maxed out see if it throws any frame rate fits and leave it only when it bows down to the glory of the 295gtx monster...


this post is completely useless in every way.... and at this very point this individual is patting his computer and whispering "good boy" under his breath like a complete maniac
 
this game is fantastic, i only own the 360 version however and started my fourth playthrough this evening, the game is so rich in detail and almost every aspect of the art and audio design has a comic undertone, Im still hearing things now that I have never heard before and some quips really make me smile.

This game is definatley one of the best I have ever played
