GTA4 - Will it be appearing on pc?

I hope it comes out on the pc.

I can see it both looking prettier and no lag with further draw distance on the PC.

wont be quite a crysis to your hardware, but you should need powerfull hardware to do so.

Having said that, quad core, 8gb ram, xp 64/linux/vista and a 8800GTX would probably be enough to run it maxed out.

November this year, is my guess that it will come to PC. Failing that, prob april/may 09. I know they say console exclusive, but I've heard all that before. Mass Effect being a good example....

I can't see them missing an opportunity to make easy money. Would prob get 1.5 - 2 mil sales on PC at the very least. The costs in porting it over would be minimal to the profits made.

Not that I'm sweating on it tho, since I'm already playing it on 360. Thank goodness the missus bought a 360 for the kids a while back. Not that they are seeing much of said console right now tho....I've nicked it from the living room and had it hooked up to the PC monitor the last several days :D

I don't get how these games are developed on the pc yet now its common for them to come out quite a while after the consoles because of so called 'porting', it just doesn't seem right, why are pc's being neglected now?

I think its time the hardware companies gave some real incentives to the games developers because if they don't before long pc's won't need many upgrades, possibly a good thing for the wallet but a bad thing for advancement.

Given the problems GTA IV is having on the consoles (PS3 in particular, with the need to have the console offline) I'd like to think as an olive branch R* will make a PC version available sooner rather than later.

ive seen it with my own eyes for 45 in the purple games shop & the dog shop, 50 in the ex-ricard branson shop, and on most game sites its 40, dont know where your getting you prices from.

I'm getting my prices from high street stores, not my problem if some branches are charging more than others, get a price match if that's the case.

GTA IV is £39.99 in the two big retail game stores where I live, it's also £37.97 or something in a certain supermarket.

well, AAA games are cheaper now than they've ever been really. if you consider the money that goes in to something like gta4, and the price on lauch, vs the development costs and purchace price of something like streetfighter 2 on the mega drive and snes, rise of the robots, virtua racing ect. then in all honesty, we've never had it better. ~£40 isnt such a bad price for a game on this scale that is likely to last you well over 40 hours. i mean, most of us would spend that on a night out lol

Who cares if it comes on PC, i have it on xbox with a massive monitor in high def, rock on!!!

Thousands of people do, what has a massive monitors have to do with anything? It'll have a higher resolution on PC (def? ..lal).

I can't decide whether to buy this on PS3.... or wait for pc version.... I'm **** at using a console to aim etc.

I'm playing GTA4 on a keyboard and mouse :D XFPS360

the most important reason for it to come out on pc is that when it does, it will be modded for a better online play and other lovely stuff that the consoles wont have.

GTA on pc doesn't feel right. It's meant to be played with a controller imo, I have Vice City on PC and I just can't play it properly lol. But I don't have a 360 or a PS3 :(

You do know wired 360 controllers are just USB and are plug+play?
You can even buy a wireless receiver.. like many of us have on these very forums.
Rubbish pro console arguement if you talk about controllers.. we have so much more choice of controllers than you.

Thats exactly how i feel, i bought Vice City and San andreas and never got past about 10% because i couldnt play it. However i loved playing it when my friend had it on PS2.

i do agree that using a Controller on pc would substitute that, but this type of game needs to be used on a large screen while sitting on a Comfortable sofa, cant picture it any other way.

Their is an autoaim function that locks on to people, and you can still aim when using the lock feature so you can shoot people's feet if they are sticking out.

The auto aim function makes things really easy but the free aim is still available and as Sinny says, you can lock on and still move the recticle around a little to target body parts.

yea okay, id say manchester is a pretty good idea of nationwide prices, so w/e

still extortionate price considering u'll be able to get it for 25 delivered on pc when it comes out, still i guess the console makers gotta make money from somewhere.

And considering the rampant piracy on the PC format, they are lucky to get that. Which leads back to why developers may favor consoles, guaranteed returns.
