GTA4-yet another good looking Gfx mod!

Yup, patching it fixed it.

Next problem. I've now added a load of cars - and they look great.

But on some, the handling is messed up. Even watching the AI drive they roll very easily and topple over. The Mercedes SL500 is undriveable, it seems to ride so low it bounces up and down and wont turn properly.

I copy+pasted into the handling.dat file?
 
This seems a lot more universal than that. Most of the cars just seem to fall over in corners, and the Mercedes SL doesnt work at all. It's like I've screwed something up a bit.

Well if the cars are literally turning over when cornering id say thats a fair assumption. :p
 
Restore your backup of handling.dat, and make the changes again for the cars you've installed.

Try them one or two at a time, then you'll know when you've found the one mod which caused it to die :)
 
FFS! Turns out the drunk cam happens when you run GTAIV.exe, rather than LaunchGTA.exe (or something similar). So I have since uninstalled, reinstalled, and now the friggin game crashes on game load even though I did everything EXACTLY the same.

I give up on all this modding crap! It's far too frustrating.

I'm having issues with GTA4, i reinstalled last week and added the ICEnhancer 1.25 mod and the big texture pack (7gb), my gfx couldn't handle it so i uninstalled GTA4 and reinstalled with nothing else, but when i start the game it's still running with ICenhancer and the colours are all messed up - really bright!. What else do i need to delete when i uninstall GTA4 to remove it all together?

Can anyone help me with a problem?

I previously had tried the iCEnhancer mod and always ended up with being stuck in 800x600 resolution with no way to increase it, the slider tries to go up but when you let go, it goes back to 800x600:

Recently changed rig apart from the same gpus, 6950>70 xfire and a clean OS install.
Tried again, same problem. I have deleted all GTA4 content from steam and redownloaded.

I have followed the instructions to downgrade to v.1.0.4.0

Now even on a new GTA4 installation without even installing ice, I am still stuck on the low res.

Is there a config file that can be deleted anywhere or modified.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Hey guys sorry to bump and old thread, i recently re-installed Gta4 and then saw this mod (1.3), installed it but having some graphical issues:

A) Film grain or Noise is horrible during the night in GTA4, i cant find anywhere to fix this
B) Randomly during the night gta4 will slowly turn really dark, i cannot see anything and then it will start to get light again.

Any ideas on how to fix this. Wish i didnt bother installing this mod now. Ive seen some nice graphical features but nothing mind blowing. I should have backup'd the original files before i installed this *facepalm*.
 
I just spotted the iphone mod but the graphics mod looks insane, Im still debating what car mods to install. im happy with the graphics i already have
 
What graphics mod works with the latest steam version? cant be bothered to roll back etc

Also how the hell do I do the helicopter misson on Gay Tony :( do the boats eventually beach so I can shoot them on land as I cant fly at all.
 
I just haven't been able to get this running since getting greedy with the car mods and crashing it after the taxi bug.

I tried uninstalling, removing GTA folders from USERS/LOCAL FILES, downloading again from steam... nothing.

The regular game plays like normal and loads the 1.0.4.0 version, but using any of the mods from 1.21 to 1.35 hasn't held any grace at all. Shame... it looked so good until I messed with the cars :(
