GTR Evolution

Ahhh, I think I see the root of the confusion.
I thought that because the Series and Team names were made up, the cars were in some way non-authentic too. Obviously I know many cars of simillar model run in all those series.

All the cars are real with the exception of the WTCC Extreme. But those cars are possible. Perhaps what they would be like if run in a GT series. Still realistic physics. (note im not referring to r-cade mod here :) )

Can't wait to play this with my DFP. None of the shops around here seem to have it atm though. I'll order it from the interweb tonight. Can anyone share their FFB and sensitivity settings etc for the DFP if you use it with this game? I took me an age to get GTR2 right, changing the settings.

My copy arrived earlier on this week, and I haven't been able to put it down. Loving the Radical cars at the moment, love throwing them round the ring.

The Audi R8 is a great car too :D

Just one thing letting my experience down really is the rubbish Logitech wheel I have, am hoping to be able to afford a G25 soon :D

Yes... although to get deecent races, I would suggest joining a racing club where everyone races fair and everyone just wants to race :)

Just had this delivered and managed to get an evening in with it last night.

I'm blown away.

I'm pretty sure I tried the original GTR and found it stupidly hard and gave up on it very quickly. Coming from mainly the Race Driver series I wasn't expecting to like Evo, but decided it was time see as I have been after a game with the full nurburgring in it.

I'm just stunned by how much more involved and real Evo is. I got the wheel hooked up, a standard thrustmaster force feedback, and found that this was prefect. In Grid I found I couldn't keep the car straight with the wheel, it was always wandering off centre, and thought it was just because it was an older wheel. But in Evo it's great, so it's just the software support not the wheel at fault. Plus the actual force feedback is immense, standard at 80% force it was ripping my arms off, I didn't think this wheel was capable of that much force.

The graphics are not up to Grid standards, but I was actually pleasantly surprised at how good they are, after reading this thread and thinking I may be disapointed.

Not had time to explore many of the tracks or cars, but the R8 round the 'ring is really good. I'm still struggling to get used to the fact you have to break a lot more for corners, but then it's much more of a sim than Grid which I'm used to.

Also a nice suprise is the ease of adding in new cars and tracks. Last night I managed to get an E90 M3 added and also the Top Gear Test Track for a bit of fun!

Where did you get the top gear test track from mate ??

Hi, Can anyone tell me if theres any other digital download sites selling gtr evo except steam.
Thanks Joe.

May I ask why STEAM is not an option?

The Race / GTR Evo games NEED STEAM to run in multiplayer anyway.

I bought GTR Evo retail but activated and run through STEAM anyway as it means I dont need to use the disc and patches are installed automatically.

Win Win.

Can you still use mods when buying through steam?

Yes.

I currently have a shedload of tracks and cars.

Simbin have recently also stated they have no problems with mods of content from their older games as long as you have the game with the modded content so standby for even more mods.

I cannot wait fot GTL connversions of the Ford Capri to race around the Nurburgring.

yep, downloaded fuji last night and gave it a run round in the f3000 since I'm going to miss the gp :D... There is an F1 mod in progress but no ETA on it yet.

Just got my wheel set up yesterday so I'm not that good, but it is fun. Can't seem to match any of my old pad times closer than a second yet
