i bought a 8800GTS about 10 days ago and i have been using it on Vista and tbh im not that impressed with the card performance in vista. i can send the card back for a refund/exchange.

so the question is should i send this back and get the 2900??

ive heard that 2900's vista performance is much better than GTS is this right?

Hmmm, ATi's drivers will be better than NV's if they don't pull there finger out, 8.38's (7.5's) are due on Wednesday, wait till then and perhaps see what the performance figures are like, then make your decision, I really don't think you should base your decision on the current Pre Alpha driver set. :)

If antialiasing and image quality in general are unimportant to you then you'll probably love a 2900XT. Otherwise you could just buy one anyway and pray its problems can be resolved by drivers.

From what I've seen in the AMD statement that keeps getting posted, AMD are saying it's "working as intended." :o

I went from a XFX 8800GTX 320MB and this is better already even on these early alpa drivers. :D

Im really regretting going the shutle route, because of power issues ive had to sell my 2900xt. Bought a 640mb gts off the members market, should be here tuesday or so i hope. Wish i hada kept my tower setup from a few months back, even though that dfi motherboard was a pain in the ass. :(

But still an awesome price and a big drop on your part from 5 days old.

wouldnt it have been a better idea just to return the card if you bought it from a place that allowed it, distance selling act and all that

oh well i have mine and love it as it is, but if these new drivers are nailed ill be over the moon :D

Did you actually get it working in the Shuttle?

Makes me laugh how people expect to open box contents wrecking product seals, use card for a while thats works perfectly fine and then assume they can get refund or exhange. Think i might try that with my next motoring purchase and see how it goes. :p

Google for "Distance Selling Regulations" - I think it's something to do with those.
